I’m sure many of you know of the hit “game” blox fruits, since it has 450k+ players, and 200-300k on a bad day.
So, seeing the huge player count, I’m also sure you tried it out… and immediately quit after 20 minutes.
Why? Because you must have noticed the mindless grind, and the fact that the game doesn’t get fun until your near max level. Even so, there’s only ONE fun thing to do in Blox Fruits, and it’s PVP. The PVP would be great if it didn’t have one shot combos, but oh well.
…
So, what’s the reason for its popularity? I have a couple theories I’d like to show you.
- Young Playerbase: The playerbase from 1st-2nd sea is very young. They most likely don’t know they could be doing something better than killing the same reskinned bandits for slightly more exp(although normally you’d end up getting 1 level after 2 minutes of work). This might not be the case, though.
-
Exploiters: Every game has exploiters. Blox Fruits has the exploiting PLAGUE. I do admit it’s harder(
) to find an exploiter, but if you really do try, you’ll definitely find some in 3rd or 2nd sea. The shear amount of exploiters could be carrying some of Blox Fruits huge player base.
-
The Seas: I’m 99% sure you know about Blox Fruit’s "Sea"addition. I’ll get straight to the point.
Each Sea probably has maybe 70-100k players. Compiling all these seas together, you get a huge player count. Each Sea is like it’s own “game”().
-
Player’s that reached the end “game”/PVP: Players that reach 3rd sea and get level 2300+ have pretty much finished the “game”. These players almost always resort to PVP as a pass time. However. since in blox fruits as long as your decent at aiming, you’ll pretty much ALWAYS win until someone else that played a couple aim training games comes along. As long as you can land one combo starter, the fights over. This PVP system keeps players coming, since instead of thinking “Oh, I just got one shot comboed by that guy, I’ll fight someone else”, or “Ugh, this game’s PVP sucks! I quit!”, they’ll be thinking: “If I can just get the jump on him… I can win!”
And that mindset is not necessarily wrong. Simply have good aim and memorize your keystrokes and you can win as long as you land one skill.
The game’s PVP, in short, is addicting.
Honourable mentions:
Getting Fruits: In this game, getting fruits isn’t really that hard. It’s getting a SPECIFIC fruit that is. You want dragon or venom or really any rare fruit? Be prepared to wait until 3rd sea to be able to trade for one.
2nd sea: Players can’t store fruits until 2nd sea. Gives players a reason to keep playing.
…
Comparisons to AO PVP:
Both are fast paced
Both rely on halfway decent “aim”(aoe builds in the corner…)
Both rely on a level and focused head, and keeping an eye on your enemies
Differences:
AO doesn’t have one shot combos and never will.(would dash away MANY players)
AO’s PVE ACTUALLY looks fun(bounty hunting rivals!)
AO doesn’t have obviously overpowered and superior versions of another thing(looking at you dragon)
IN AO… YOU CAN’T LITERALLY FLY 100,000 METERS THE AIR EVERY TIME SOMEONE LANDS A HIT ON YOU
Final notes:
I feel like blox fruits = AO is stupid. I know they are very similar, and I’d say some builds in blox fruits are similar to AO pvp builds(canvander+kabucha+rumble would be a good example, but it’s a oneshot combo soo).
Btw, I quit Blox Fruits. Not because AO released, but because I finally got my 5m bounty goal, and I did it with just one build(sword main canvander kabucha ice).
So uhh… yay?
