Why is mud a lost magic

Mud is a bit of a dull Magic to be upped a tier, so yeah it should be a base Magic

Actually, that was in polls for voting, which people said no to. It wasnt confirmed to be that.

It is kind of weird for Mud to be a Lost considering the magics we have right now. However, it is worth noting Mud probably has the most unique gimmick aside from Promethean Fire and Gravity. It doesn’t just have hazards or slow, it has slowing hazards, and while one could say “the only reason Ice doesn’t slow is because of Mud,” I honestly think Ice and Mud slowing could coexist because they would still work entirely differently.

Other magics could probably get gimmicks that are wildly unique too, but for Mud, it’s hard to NOT have that gimmick because it makes too much sense. Alongside being a mutation it’s not too unreasonable to put it here, still weird but not unreasonable.

By this logic though, Crystal could be a Lost too, and in hindsight, if Crystal were originally a Lost that wouldn’t be so bad, but it should probably stay a Base because it’s really not that much of an issue to warrant moving it.

I’ve talked about this probably a billion times now but tbh this could all just be solved if Mud were replaced with Tar. If the name isn’t intimidating enough you could call it Asphalt or even upgrade it to an Ancient and call it Primal Asphalt, as tar was literally a deathbed for ancient creatures.

Since it would be magic you could give it special gimmicks as well like the asphalt puddles moving or engulfing targets as if the dead creatures were consciously controlling the asphalt. The attacks could be shaped to look like sea monsters as well.

I agree, why is mud a lost magic?
It should easily be up there with Promethean Flame and Apocalypse Bringer.

Ash clouds are just standard damage dealing hazards that you can find with Poison, Electron, and probably Poison-Lightning too. Blind is kinda more special but most blinds are weak AND it’s not uncommon either considering 4 magics will have it. Mud introduces an entirely new effect in the form of a hazard. No magics slow and no hazards do anything besides damages, that’s double the uniqueness.

Compare that to Aether Lightning (Lightning 2.0 will probably shock) Aether (Light 2.0), or even Flare (stackable Fire). Even Inferno, Electron, and Blaze, literal Ancients, are expansions on previous concepts rather than magics that introduce an entirely new concept.

In comparison to almost all magics in the game it is, I could list most magics, I only chose those few.

since snow right now is currently just bad ice maybe snow could be used for slowing people and ice could be better for freezing people

Snow creating clouds with Wind has always been a valid suggestion and tbh I don’t see that as something too improbable to be added.

imo snow should have it’s own gimmick and not just be watered down ice
then it can be used for its own combos and not just support for ice

solution to the argument; if mud is a lost magic, ash, magma, and ink should also be lost magics. However, those are too specific, meaning mud, SHOULD be a base magic
