Why is Seismic Slash so bad?

We all know Seismic slash (probably) its one of the moves General Argos’s Axe has but it deals abysmal damage with 137 power it deals 107 damage + 28 per debris hit

why is that? Did they forget to buff it or?

The problem isn’t the damage, the problem is the fact that the debris is literally impossible to hit.
It would deal actually pretty good damage if the debris was able to all land.

Take it from a certified Seismic Slash enjoyer; the issue with the debris is like one of the issues with the Pomson 6000 in TF2, in that it aims slightly lower than your cursor. Every other attack in AO goes straight to it if it’s pointer-based.

Personally, I either try to lead a shot with the debris like it’s a Blast spell, or spread it out in the shape of Axe-Slash so at least one piece has a chance to hit. If I’m using Seismic Slash at close range, the debris is all effectively guaranteed to hit.

yeah i’m tryna learn how to use Seismic slash and other argos moves

i’ve said this plenty of times on bcord but i’ll say it again
seismic slash should have devastates damage with the bonus of impossible to hit projectiles, not have it’s damage cut in half to facilitate it’s useless gimmick

i always aim slightly above with my ranged moves bc otherwise they won’t hit, this seems to be an issue with every move to me

Fundamentally it just doesn’t work, a game this mobile requiring you to be on the ground just to shoot a projectile simply doesn’t work. Doesn’t have good travel speed, doesn’t have good size, the vfx make it hard to see where you’re aiming, it doesn’t even aim properly, and the projectiles arc. Best fix for it is just to replace it with another one of argos’s moves. Seismic slash is the only skill that’s legitimately unusable.

Vetex wanted to call it ‘seizure slash’ since you would have a seizure trying to hit your opponent
But Roblox moderation said no so he used seismic
/j

what the fuck.

I think a lot of you addressed majority of its issues, but also, even if everything else about the move was functional (size, speed, accuracy of debris etc.) then the move would still be terrible because it’s practically impossible to aim the debris.
In a game with as much mobility as AO, it’s not possible to aim a move with a projectile when you have to account for 3 things:

  1. Your position and where you’re gonna end up cause your camera is moving due to the slam portion
  2. Where your targets position is/predicting where they’re gonna be
  3. Travel time and actual accuracy of your cursor + the debris

Also the move has destruction, so in the few scenarios you’re able to do the above 3 difficult things you just end up chucking the debris into a ledge cause you broke the terrain

thsts why i said this earlier

its the only way to make it good

That’s not true, there’s a couple of other options(idk if any of which vetex may consider to save the move though)

  1. Two part skill → let both parts of the skill be activated by the same key, but the projectile portion only after you’ve done the slam with some amount of grace period and internal cd
  2. Make the rubble an aoe instead of multiple projectiles

That’s flatly incorrect, the aiming system in AO is off for some reason so all attacks go slightly above or below your cursor if you’re above or below the target.

I meant when your cursor gains a red inside dot (right on a target). It’s consistently aimed well when the dot is red for every attack BUT Seismic Slash in my experience.

it’s generally incorrect with high angles and close proximity
