Why is there no water curse?

There is a curse for every (naturally existing) magic, but this rule doesn’t seem to apply to water magic, as, to my knowledge, there is no water curse.

However, there is the tide curse, however that only controls naturally existing water, and not water magic.

Idk though, it could exist and I’m simply just uninformed, and this topic would be meaningless :man_shrugging:

edit: I might be stupid

It exists

its real

theres a curse for every magic

It does exist like with every other Magic. It just happens to exist with a similarly-named Tide Curse that happens to control seawater.

isnt tide literally the water curse, its just that it happens to have a fancier name
i dont mean a version of it, itd just be the one and only

theres a difference between controlling the sea and creating, manipulating AND transforming into water

Previous owner was probably stupid and somehow died and the Water Curse went up to space or down the deep sea where it’ll never be found in the next 1000 years or so.

water curse fell under the map rip

so water would be, technically, an exception to the “only one of every curse” rule?

Or it could be that the humans that named the tide curse simply named it that way, but it’s basically just the water curse itself

its this, the tide curse, like tech said, is the water curse, which can create water itself, while also being able to control sea water and such

Does the user of the water curse still die if they touch seawater tho? Be kinda ironic for the guy using sea water to attack die from a droplet of his own powers touching him

Yes, since it’s the magic pollution from Durza that makes the curse users go boom, not the sea itself

I assume that the water curse was named the Tide Curse to differentiate it from Sea Curses in general.

i’d imagine not, because curse users are able to phase themselves into the element, but don’t take that for a fact because I didn’t ask tech that question

he wont die from his own attacks, nor will his attack have the same effect on other curse users as seawater due cause the reason seawater is dangerous to the Cursed is due to Duzra’s immense magic energy in it, not the water itself

in WoM ( which, sure, aint canon anymore, but it should still applies ) which takes place a 1000 years later, curse users can swim in the sea normallu now since the mahic energy in it has faded away

I think I remember it being stated somewhere that they decided to change a certain aspect about the “seawater killing Curse Users” thing, and that External Curse Users (Absorption, Lazarus, etc.) are no longer killed when they fall into the water.

It now only affects Elemental Curse Users, those who can phase into their element. Since their body is made up of magic, the magical energy in them rejects the magic pollution in the sea, causing them to explode and die.

Tide Curse actually sounds more external than elemental, since it controls water rather than becoming water, but Im not completely sure on this myself.

If the tide curse is just the water curse, then the water that it conjures and the water the user would turn into would not be infused with Durza dark sea energy and thus would not hurt them.
I am pretty sure the water curse would be elemental.
