Why... [*REDACTED*] WHY

My friend just handed me this today morning as a book mark :sob:

posted it here cause I feel like this speaks to some of you (no offense)

I never would have thought something like this would be my first topic

Personally, I’ve made peace with fictional characters not existing.

As it means that I can make them boyfriends and girlfriends to one another and nobody can stop me.

I’m not gay so this doesn’t work on me

It would’ve been funnier if the word was Girlfriend and the line “fictional characters” was replaced with “it”

i would also say this except without the no offense disclaimer

who is the some of you in question

We’re no longer in the age of the internet where the joke makes much sense, nerddom is dead and women use the internet and play games as much as you now. Though I’m really confused by these posts because even as a very young teenager living in the Gamergate era I was weirded out by the sexism (“women don’t exist on the internet,” “me and the boys doing X,” yada yada). Or at the very least I would have felt too embarrassed or guilty to make it if it were possible that a girl would see it. What motivates you to keep making it even when it’s very likely that @jumpingwhistle is actually a girl/woman? I genuinely want to know.

How are all your takes so based

Not gonna lie, trying to get a significant other regardless of gender is always hell. Also fictional characters are fictional, therefore insignificant in the grand sheme of things.

I think I’m gay enough for this to still work.

Is your friend trying to tell you something? Albeit harshly?

nah, i don’t have any fictional boyfriends/crushes…

probably
