The main upside of sunken sword is the soaked effect, and maybe level 1000/rising tide, but anyone who has obtained an arcanium weapon knows arcanium binds to one of your random magics. you may see where this is going. a water magic user (or no magic for unbound arcanium trades to alt) gets an arcanium sword or weapon, and poof you have a sunken sword without rising tide, BUT you can do this with ALL weapon classes technically. this would basically give sunkens value still fairly high because level 1000 and better whirlwind, but it for sure would make it worse in value unless arcanium weapons are non existant (but theres canons and rams so i doubt) or just as rare (also doubt since its conjurer’s main thing).
also mini extra, savants can imbue soul weapons so imagine that, because no other class can imbue it (unless the game just says no or lore wise no)
Soaked isnt supposed to be the only good thing about sunken swords. Whenever rising tide finally gets buffed and when the other abilities are added maybe it will still be good
Regardless sunkens are not worth fishing 3000 times for. They’ll never be worth fishing 3000 times for. And the amount of time you spend to have a chance to get it exponentially outweighs the reward.
Especially since it’s meant for weapon based classes. Imagine being a mage and fishing 3000 times for a weapon that you cant even use.
I’m not 100% sure but right now sunken sword can also be mimicked by imbuing with water magic. And also the main benefit of sunken sword is that you can soak without having water as your magic to benefit from synergies (lightning, ice, snow etc). Arcanium weapons would require water as your first magic meaning the synergy cannot be benefited off of as much (until 2nd magic comes out for conjurers) but even still it would be less benefitial to use an arcanium water weapon and have ice as your second magic then it would be to main ice and imbue a sunken sword.
Also the 1/8000 drop chance isn’t changing drastically anytime soon
not saying you have to use water magic, you have an alt that does (or an unimbued one from a no magic build) and trade it like how canons and rams work
