for those of you who can’t understand why, it’s simple.
if you read the last few lines there, you can see how the effects mix together when infused.
such as ice magic making it freeze.
now, for the few people who still don’t know what this means
imagine fighting someone who uses weapons, but a quarter of their moveset freezes you (if I’m understanding right, assuming it’s not just rising tide affected, which regardless is still really good). now, while you can escape freeze by using an attack, that’s still an attack that’s perfectly predictable, and punishable. and since most skills are somewhat close range, that means the conjuror can use one of the really damaging grabs on you while you’re frozen.
not to mention the whole much larger aoe with lightning magic
do you see what I’m getting at? the sunken sword will always be useful for conjurors and is definitely going to have at least some value above things like the current hardest boss’ drop.
(I was actually wondering how infusing magic into a exalted magic weapon would even work, so now I know)
we are expecting it to lose value if a different weapon gets added that also applies soaked, or even chilled/snowy if that ever happens
but yes i do see where youre getting at
also forgot to mention mobility, which is the main reason for its usefulness rn (though not a whole lot)
if theres a better “high jump” weapon, it may be outclassed
yeah status effect weapons and stuff like this will always have SOME value, since synergies and other stuff. Even if they get outclassed they wont fully lose value since they still have synergies and other uses (just worse ones than better varients/weapons with the same effects)
I’m pretty sure Vetex will change this if it ends up being unbalanced (which it probably will be). I think it would make sense if the freezing effect from the ice overwrites the soak effect from the sunken sword (though maybe with more Aoe?).
