Make it so that mountains can be destroyed without destroying the whole island.
Like they have a separate “health bar” to indicate how much they can resist getting destroyed. Let’s say the small mountains in the desert of Sameria can be destroyed and don’t as as much HP as the bigger ones like mount Enkav. So applying to Ravenna, Mount Othrys, and other future mountains would be fun.
Plus I kind of find it weird that my high destruction build, despite basically stripping the entire small mountain in Sameria of its dirt and stone, didn’t get destroyed.
Gives “Immersion” as Vetex puts it.
Obviously, the moment terrain regenerates, it should reset its health.
Okay, 20-30 hits, that’s cool, that’s cool… THAT DOES NOT CHANGE THE FACT THAT THIS WOULD MAKE UNNECESSARY LAG SPIKES IN AN ALREADY MASSIVELY LAGGY GAME, MY GUY.
Then there’s the fact that terrain regeneration already has a tendency to trap players, and that tends to be only a few studs deep. But the mountain in Ravenna? Oh, that’s only a few HUNDRED studs across. Not like that’s a huge problem if someone just happens to get stuck in it, and good forbid they’re a FS player, can can’t easily just destroy it again to get out.
There’s a thousand problems—some of them pretty big—with this idea, all for… immersion? Immersion for who??? The terrain grows back like a cancer cyst, and can just spontaneously trap you in it. That’s not immersive at all.
