I’m gonna be real. A lot of this talk about Roblox dying or being shutdown is complete bogus.
The platform has been around for 20 years already and despite many people saying that less players have been playing, if you compare the statistics of Roblox to a few years ago (even just 2024 or 2023), it shows very evidently that the platform is still growing. Roblox had only first peaked over 10M concurrent users in summer 2024 and through most of 2025-2026, that 10M milestone has simply become the standard and the minimum amount no matter the time of day.
The group of people who are vocal and complaining do not represent a large portion of the playerbase and even less of them have actually quit Roblox as a whole.
The only way I see Roblox shutting down is if:
A - Roblox becomes banned and/or heavily fined beyond financial repair in most nations (most importantly, the United States, where they’re based in).
B - They make an update or a chain of updates that genuinely kills the majority of Roblox games in terms of gameplay. Key word there “gameplay” because I do feel like a lot of the hated changes Roblox has done has not really affected my personal experience in playing Roblox other than the chat restriction and even then I don’t believe it stops people from enjoying a Roblox game itself unless it was like a social hangout game.
C - They further reduce the income of Roblox developers on the platform, so much so that very little developers/studios actually want to develop anymore new games.
Even if all 3 of these scenarios happen, its not something will lead to Roblox shutting down even by 2027. It would take years, probably at least 5 years I would say. Although I will admit, I’m extremely biased since I don’t really care enough about all the bad issues being implemented to Roblox. I will still play regardless if there are games I like. I suppose you could call me a sheep for that.
probably’ll live at the current trajectory but to put simply it’ll suck ass. these changes make the experience worse for both devs and users, but younger audiences’ll probably keep playing some of the super stimulating games with no substance. haven’t played ao in a while but i worry about it getting screwed over like aa was
My guess is that it’ll continue to crash for another few years. By around 2028, a decent chunk of the adult playerbase will have moved elsewhere, and by 2029—assuming the US doesn’t have bigger concerns then—the court cases and lawsuits will begin coming due.
By then, most of the shareholders will have moved on, as they fully expected this, and were basically trying to have Roblox burn all of its longevity at once for a quick profit. Without the means to pay many of the fines or bribe their way out of their criminal charges, Roblox will probably fall by 2031 or 2032. Arrests would likely be made a bit before then of it’s higher-ups, assuming they don’t flee the country.
Yea, though I stopped playing cause it got boring rather than being mad at the changes (my avatar doesnt use a face). Now I do more irl stuff (might reactivate Garlic Hiking Blog ) and I went back to Scrap Mechanic my beloved
But overall it’s not possible for roblox to lose players but their stocks gonna crash (it already is going down hard)
It all depends on whether or not they somehow top the whole Schlep fiasco to the point where it makes the decisions they made back then look like big brain moves.
You are most likely right. However, we have already doxxed him, and its only a matter of time untill a lunatic gets pissed enough to go to his house and do a thing.
