I’m gonna be real. A lot of this talk about Roblox dying or being shutdown is complete bogus.
The platform has been around for 20 years already and despite many people saying that less players have been playing, if you compare the statistics of Roblox to a few years ago (even just 2024 or 2023), it shows very evidently that the platform is still growing. Roblox had only first peaked over 10M concurrent users in summer 2024 and through most of 2025-2026, that 10M milestone has simply become the standard and the minimum amount no matter the time of day.
The group of people who are vocal and complaining do not represent a large portion of the playerbase and even less of them have actually quit Roblox as a whole.
The only way I see Roblox shutting down is if:
A - Roblox becomes banned and/or heavily fined beyond financial repair in most nations (most importantly, the United States, where they’re based in).
B - They make an update or a chain of updates that genuinely kills the majority of Roblox games in terms of gameplay. Key word there “gameplay” because I do feel like a lot of the hated changes Roblox has done has not really affected my personal experience in playing Roblox other than the chat restriction and even then I don’t believe it stops people from enjoying a Roblox game itself unless it was like a social hangout game.
C - They further reduce the income of Roblox developers on the platform, so much so that very little developers/studios actually want to develop anymore new games.
Even if all 3 of these scenarios happen, its not something will lead to Roblox shutting down even by 2027. It would take years, probably at least 5 years I would say. Although I will admit, I’m extremely biased since I don’t really care enough about all the bad issues being implemented to Roblox. I will still play regardless if there are games I like. I suppose you could call me a sheep for that.
