Oliver Salore stood anxiously in the Leader’s office, in possession of the book.
“Not impressed.”
The Leader came walking into the room through the electronic door.
“But this surely will impress you.”
Oliver got off from his chair and held the book into his face.
“Sit down.”
The Leader replied.
“I have heard you have costed the live of our Junior-associate, Nick Zerne?”
The Leader sat onto his chair.
“To be fair, that bastard Doll-User did it.”
Oliver smiled.
“In the report it said you reckless blew up his arm, enraging the User to murder your college as form of karma, had you not done that, he’d just maybe be alive.”
The Leader crossed his arms and leaned back on his chair.
“Prices have to be paid, not everybody will live at the end, Nick was the reason we have the book.”
Oliver placed the book down onto the table and pushed it gently towards him.
“The book is only our last resort and seeing as how successful we are of eradicating these wizards, you might as well burn that book to the last page.”
The Leader got up from the chair and pushed the book back to him.
“Hope we’ll reconsider, see you later!”
Oliver also stood up, shaking his hand while leaving.
“I’ll be giving the rank of co-leader to you, while you’ve had a history of losing our members, your intellect is nothing to scoff at…do not disappoint me.”
The Leader washed his palm with hand-sanitizer.
“The both of us can’t make promises, like how you said you would keep my brother alive.”
Oliver would mention his brother, Charles Salore.
The Leader said nothing as both of the men parted ways.
-Meanwhile-
Leon, Sarah and James drove in a car to the Tophat Headquarters, in hopes of meeting Ryan there before they do.
“Derrick was able to provide me information of where this place is.”
James informed them.
“I hope that kid is still alive.”
Leon looked to his right out the window.
“He’s been through worse.”
Sarah reminded him.
“But there is a limit-”
Leon tried speaking.
“We’re here.”
James spoke.
"Do not make any noises, not until i give you all a signal
James spoke.
“What will it be, a seagull’s quack?”
Leon giggled.
James looked at Leon and held his middle-finger at him.
“That will be.”
James turned back around and continued sneaking through bushes.
-Meanwhile-
Ryan was behind the base, climbing the wall that protected the entrance, he would pause when he heard radio-static approaching by and continuing when it were silent.
He eventually made it to the top where he saw a Guard, sitting silently.
“Don’t move, i don’t want to hurt you.”
Ryan spoke to the figure, but it would say nothing.
“I’m only here to find a man named Oliver Salore, i know he is somewhere around here.”
Ryan contiuned, but to no response.
“Answer me!”
Ryan spun the chair around to see that it was a hologram of a man, it was a trap.
A device where the hologram was rigged to blew up, causing Ryan to fall down to the entrance, bloodied and bruised, he got back up, only to see a dozen guards pointing guns at him.
“Crystal Barrier!”
Ryan managed to conjure a shield made of Sapphire crystals.
The members shot multiple rounds into the barrier, damaging it greatly.
“Uah!”
Ryan screamed as he continuously repaired the barrier, thinking of a plan.
While the assault was in pursuit, a member with explosion magic arrived.
“Why did they stop firing?”
Ryan wondered.
Ryan would heard a muffled scream of “Devastating Explosion!” Ryan would cancelled the shield and ran away.
He managed to survive, the explosion’s force knocking him down on the floor, he’d look over to see all the guards aiming their assault-rifles at him, he knew he was going to die.
“Hello Nephew!”
Oliver arrived with widened-eyes and a devious smile.
“Last time i saw you, you were in a house of fire, watching your mother die…doing nothing to save her.”
Oliver spoke.
“You w- you were the man who stopped me!”
Ryan realized.
“Three points for intelligence, never knew wizards knew how to solve pieces like that, i thought they would rather murder humans with their powers, or rather murder their mentality.”
Oliver replied.
“Arugh!”
Ryan screamed in anger as he sprinted towards him.
“It’s alright, i can handle this.”
Oliver told his men to stand down.
“Sapphire Blast!”
Ryan blasted shards at Oliver.
Oliver manifested his tendril, swiftly and effortlessly blocking all these shards, Ryan also manifested his and both of them clashed.
“You have good control of it, but did you have the practice?”
Oliver broke through the the clash preparing to pierce Ryan.
Ryan quickly blocked his attack by swiping his tendril in the way.
“Sapphire Blast!”
Ryan sent another blue shard at Oliver.
Oliver used his tendril to grab the crystal in mid-air and throw it back at Ryan, blasting him to the ground.
“You have no heart!”
Ryan screamed as Oliver began walking towards him.
“I’ve lost mine long ago, when your father and mother betrayed me!”
Oliver pulled a katana out of his suit and swiped it across Ryan’s face.
“Uah!”
Ryan screamed as blood creeped down his cheek.
Oliver then stabbed Ryan into the abdomen with his tendril lifting him off the floor.
“ARUGH!”
Ryan screamed in agony as Oliver wailed him high up in the air.
“Auh, Help…HELP!!”
Ryan pleaded for help as galleons of blood spilled out from his wound.
“Someone, plea-”
Ryan tried to get himself off the tendril, but to no effect.
“Oliver, this is inhumane, he is just a kid!”
A member spoke.
“Poisoning Alastair to death wasn’t humane, this is just payback!”
Oliver stared at him with bloodshot eyes.
Just then, Sarah shot her sniper at Oliver, shattering his jaw-bone.
“Guah!”
Oliver gargled blood as he fell onto the floor, letting the unconscious Ryan go.
James then froze everyone except for Oliver and Ryan.
“Not so tough now, huh, bitch?”
Sarah held out a grenade.
Leon quickly carried the injured Ryan away, as Sarah threw the grenade at Oliver.
“Damn, military!”
Oliver screamed at Sarah.
“You could have power, auh, I- if you join- joined me!”
Oliver spoke, holding his hand out to her.
The grenade exploded, blasted Oliver backwards through the wall of the building as limbs separated from his body.
“Let’s go.”
James held onto Sarah’s shoulder and all of them left on their vehicle.
“Explosive Barrage!”
Leon broke down the gate, carrying Ryan on his shoulder.
“Ah, you didn’t listen!”
James yelled at Ryan as he drove them all away from the Headquarters.
“How is he doing?”
Sarah spoke to Leon.
“Not good, he lost a lot of blood.”
Leon spoke while mending his wounds.
-Meanwhile-
“Fang, i need you to calm down and hear me!”
The Older Fang followed behind his younger counterpart.
“Speak from a distance, freak!”
Younger Fang yelled while swiping leaves out of his way.
They made it onto the streets, Younger Fang narrowly dodging cars that sped past them.
“Watch it kid!”
A man in car opened his window yelling at Younger Fang.
“Somebody, get this guy away from me!”
Younger Fang yelled.
When this happened, the road started trembling with green auras emerging out of the cracks, three ghosts burst out of the ground.
“Hello Fang!”
The ghost Spencer smiled at him.
“Oh thank gosh, there’s some old guy chasing me, please hel-”
The Younger Fang slowly approached him, but would be magically pulled off the floor by Cassandra.
“We know who you are, do not trick us!”
Cassandra yelled pulling the Younger Fang towards her.
“I, Auh, i do not know w- what you’re talking about!”
Fang yelled.
“Ice Blast!”
The Older Fang blasted Cassandra, knocking her spell off his other variant.
“Spencer, capture the Younger Fang, we’ll deal with the other.”
Icarus spoke.
“Acid Blast!”
Spencer shot purple acid towards Young Fang.
“Auh, what the fuck?”
Fang yelled as he ran into an alleyway with Spencer following by.
