Differences between magics between WoM and AO:
Mechanic Changes

Blast spell cooldown now begins after the endlag rather than after releasing the keybind, so the cooldown is more consistent (and longer)

The Bleeding status effect will no longer stack

Magics that have a status effect that apply damage overtime deal 5% more damage against targets afflicted by their own status

Magics can now apply environmental changes to parts more consistently, which effectively buffs magics that can turn parts into damaging hazards

High jump spells had their height reduced by 50%, can only be used once in midair, and resets its cooldown upon touching the ground

High jump spells are now affected by Magic Size from gear but not from base magic size
-
Stamina high jumps now have a startup of 0.1 second + ping instead of 0.25 seconds + ping

Magics can now have adjusted size when exploding underwater

A magic’s destruction affinity is taken into account for its damage against boats
Magic Changes

Paper Magic and Ink Magic were removed

Gold Magic and Iron Magic are combined into Metal Magic with their color variations. Metal Magic will share the same stats as Iron Magic

Crystal Magic now applies the Crystallized status effect, which lasts 10 seconds per instance and can stack up to 4 times. Attacking a target afflicted by 4 stacks of crystals with Crystal Magic will remove all instances, dealing +50% damage on the shattering hit

Light Magic now has a synergy with Crystal Magic, dealing 25% more damage against Crystallized targets (this is not really relevant here since we are discussing magic effectiveness by themselves)

Light Magic’s speed affinity was increased from 1.7 to 1.8

Wood Magic’s speed affinity was increased from 0.7 to 0.8

Crystal Magic’s speed affinity was increased from 0.65 to 0.7

Plasma Magic’s speed affinity was increased from 1.1 to 1.2

Metal Magic’s damage affinity was decreased from 1.1 to 1.0

Acid Magic now has 1.3x size underwater

Water Magic now has 2.0x size underwater

Ice Magic and Lightning Magic now have 1.5x size underwater
-
Light Magic now has 0.75x size underwater

Wind Magic now has 0.5x size underwater
Now with all those changes in consideration, many magics will move up in the tier list.
Notice how Shadow and Earth didn’t move a bit, as they were not affected by any changes.
