World of Magic Fun Facts

Did you know that:

  • Before Open Test 2, Wood had the least interactions and mechanics out of all magics, with only two (excluding magic damage interactions)

  • Light Magic is 4.25x a faster magic (1.7 speed affinity) than Gold Magic (0.4 speed affinity)

  • Wind is twice as fast as Wood, but is more than twice as prone to losing clashes vs. Wood

  • Wind Magic does the same damage as Ice Magic alone

  • If you are a Water/Ink user, you can charge your magic for one second to prevent enemies from comboing you with the Melting or Burning status effects

  • Before the game was released, Poison was able to deal the most damage in a single hit if DoT is included. With a full power build and minimum blast size, over 215 damage total was possible at level 40

  • Back when World of Magic was in its Alpha stages, solid and liquid magics used to be affected by gravity. That was eventually removed, however

  • The projectile speed of Blast spells and the flight speed of Flight spells are the relatively the same for their respective magics

  • Explosion spells can clash and have clash effects just like how projectile spells do. Here’s an example:

  • Magma Magic removes the most status effects (7) out of all elemental magics. This proves it to be what you’d call a “combo breaker” magic

  • Before the game was released, Glass Magic is the only magic with no unique interactions with other magics (magic damage interactions excluded)

  • Before the game was released, Ash Magic was the least damaging magic, with a damage multiplier of 0.85x without any DoT support

  • Before the game was released, Poison Magic used to have a 0.9x damage multiplier, giving it the ability to deal the most damage out of any magic in a single hit (with DoT included). This was however changed due to it being OP

  • All damage dealt in World of Magic is visually rounded down, but is often in decimals

  • Before the Fishing Update, with the former linear scaling of stats, the maximum effectiveness of a Magic Size or Agility build was a 4% increase at level 60.

  • If you stand still while in combat or magic energy charge in place, you gain stamina as fast as you would outside of combat

  • Self explosions can remove certain status effects from both yourself and targets hit by it if your magic removes them

  • Shockwave explosions have the widest AoE, making them best for magics that leave behind damaging puddles/parts

I kinda wanna know what the exact magic affinities are, I know they’re supposed to be intuitive, but I wanna know what affinities there are like speed and their exact numbers. (kinda like the magic clashing spreadsheet or there is already one and I’m not aware)

I think people will actually be using self explosion a lot more in battle for the purpose of countering attacks, rather than blocking.

that also applies to bleed with fire and ice

And literally any magic that clears status effects when hitting things. If hitting someone would clear the status effect from them, charging will clear it from you.

Standing still for 1 second gives your magma/fire opponent plenty of time to land another hit though. Wonder if it should be faster.

This actually seems like a problem - flight spells are set to be one of the main mobility options for getting around the map, and giving light users flight that’s over 4x faster than gold users will give them a massive advantage grinding out quests and bosses.
Hopefully vetex changes it before we get access to flight.
