Worst magic in AO?

IMO it’s light. Light doesn’t do any damage and all you get in exchange is speed.

Bet this will get taken down

really just depends on your playstyle. but i haven’t exactly seen anyone use ash before.

I swear I see peoplle say “it sucks because the damage is low (light)”

I think the “worst Magic” depends on your build.

  • Mage: I’d probably go with Earth. It’s slightly smaller and faster than Metal at the cost of no natural status infliction, and because it’s still slow, it actively relies on other Magics to be useful.
  • Warlock: This is harder because it depends on your fighting style, but overall, I’d go with Sand. It’s fine, but you’re stuck running a fairly quick Magic (in my experience) with Iron Leg’s anti-ass hauling.
  • Conjurer: Absolutely no idea. Maybe Ash? Even if there was an actual answer, it’d change as more weapons like the Sunken Sword got added.
  • Paladin: Probably the same situation as Mage, unless if Spirit Weapons get magic synergies.
  • Savant: My ability to think properly has suddenly vanished.

As an ash conjurer I am completely offended. Look how offended i am

Me personally, Heavier Magic Conjurer, you need good atk speed to make it worthwhile because its just really damn slow, though not entirely unusable

There’s also Glass Conjurer where it doesn’t entirely benefit weapons since it doesn’t double bleed but still not unusable

As it very well should.

It’s fine as it is.

Also, i like how light getting a buff from .825 to .85 impact dmg, (same dmg as fire) out of the blue a patch ago or so, and it’s still considered to have no dmg. lol

Even after a self synergy.

Light may not do much damage, but I am still wary of someone who can kill me from a different island

Mage:

  • Honestly anything slow. Like, anything below 0.8 speed is pain to use. And still out of 0.8 speed magic only Explosion can be considered as decent due to its size (Water with 1x speed and 1.2 speed says hello.)

Warlock:

  • Heavily dependant on F.S., but i’d say anything slow, and something that does not have synergy with your f.s. (correction: fire thermo and water sailor are good due to tier2 status effect, and scalding combinations will be good soon due to self-syn)

Conjurer:

  • Anything slow. YOU SEE THE SIMILIARTIES, ARE’NT YA!? Anything works as long as it has bleeding synergy

Paladin: Mage but not mage

Savant:

  • Tricky question…Rn, savants go off from synergies, so again…

ANYTHING SLOW, UNDER 0.8 SPEED AND SOMETHING THAT DOES’NT HAVE SYNERGY WITH YOUR PLAYSTYLE

Hmm, well I’d have to say maybe poison. It’s got a pretty low damage multiplier in exchange for a dot that takes ages to complete. I hear other magics’ dots, like plasma of all things, are overall better due to you being able to reapply it constantly, dealing more extra damage off of the dot using more attacks. While it is pretty big, and the clouds are interesting, for a mage at least I think it’s pretty weak as a main magic.

For Mage, Conjurer, and Warlock alike, it is without a doubt Metal, at least for PvP. Brings absolutely nothing to the table that Earth can’t do better, and borders on unusable in the current meta. It can be made to work, but it is without a doubt the worst magic currently in the game.

For PvE, probably Poison; I’m not sure why you’d ever want or need to kill bosses / NPCs slowly.

:fr:

Arguably best Thermo Fist imbue in the entire game alongside Explosion, even excluding its ability to stack up to Burning III due to a bug.

Doesn’t synergize too well with Sailor’s, I’ll give you that.

Undebatably the best Iron Leg imbue in the game.

Stellar Boxing imbue.

Great Cannon Fist imbue, only weakness is that you’re forced to use Cannon Fist.

Decent on Basic Combat, though Basic will always pair better with a DoT-status imbue.

depends on the class

mage: probably a slow magic like earth or metal
warlock: depends on fighting style
conjurer: hmm ash or poison?

my light thermo savant focusing purely on attack speed because I refuse to awaken her. so her damage is even worse than it should be

aesthetic-wise its crystal

gimme back my translucent rocks
