The question is in the topic. I need opinions ![]()
Its just linear algebra lil bro, its not that deep ![]()
In fact I know a guy called John Deep so we have to delve into this topic
How is John Deep relevant to clankers, I dont understand
well its a deep topic
is he woken?
I’d say 50/50
I’m sorry but what does this title mean ![]()
Why not both? Govern over their very existence while calling them an endless amount of clanker insults
Assimilate with technology and optimize my own mortal vessel obviously ![]()
(We are assuming this does not have any adverse or unwanted side effects, I want to lose my humanity, but I also want to keep it, if that makes sense)
To dominate or discriminate implies that you fear the abilities that said object of discrimination or domination possesses, and thus feel you must suppress them in some way, or at least such rhetoric is used to justify said discrimination or domination. However, a quote unquote artificial intelligence has no such ability. True it is able to spit out regergated information when prompted, but it has no mind of its own. All the guff about super intelligence is marketing, and attempts to shutdown competition. No all it does is take input and give output, thus all it’s decisions are in someway governed by humanity.
Large learning models are so far beneath humanity, that I don’t even deign to use a slur against them, as a slur is used to dehumanize the target. Why would I need to dehumanize something which can only exist with our intervention?
So no, I would not dominate or discriminate against an LLM, because to do so would raise it to a status where an implied humanity resides. Something which has been and always shall be absent from such devices. All they are is an expensive (four trillion invested, for a retained earnings of fifty billion across the industry) toy which should have failed quickly and precipitously alongside the likes of its ill-remembered kin. The only thing propping it up are idiotic investors and governments who saw a way to replace workers and jumped too far and too deep. So if you want to blame anyone, blame the lackluster developers and the people who keep chucking money into this garbage furnace.
(That said this is obviously about generative models specifically, as well as items such as Flock cameras. However, you should still not harass people, instead write to your local governments (if data centers are a problem —I don’t know if they are outside the US—) and actively speak out against these obnoxious and economy ruining devices.)
Whoa, I hadn’t thought about it from that perspective. Now all the puzzle pieces have fallen into place!
Uhhh, to be frank I have no idea ![]()
I kinda lost the track after first 2 words
Discriminate.
Negged by a shitty programmer such as Chalex.
This is just plain misinformation, the current cumulative spending on data centers, chips, and AI is about $1.4 trillion and the revenue made up from them so far is close to $700 Billion.
There are extremely many benefits of AI and it helps manage thousands of people, millions of documents, and finding closer to optimal solutions easier. AI is a tool, and it will stay like that until the end of humanity.
Depends. Absolutely yes im dunking on those clankers but if they ever had thoughts and feelings comparable to our ill consider it. After all I don’t think it’s entirely impossible for them to reach that level because we are a literal example of that, just far more efficient (or at least for simplicity’s sake)
Very true if it stays at that level. It’s value in these areas is too immense and you can’t just get rid of it
