I’m thinking of a situation where you’re sent to like an alternate earth for 5 years and you decide to enjoy it while it lasts. Any consequences that happen during that 5 years won’t affect you once you return back home. You have magic that can help you with your job.

More fun? I know that emergency responders have it very stressful, but their job is safe and secure at least. Even though there’s no consequences in this alternate Earth, I assume that if you get caught dolling out murder you’ll still be punished like normal.
I think neither would be fun after a while and they’d both be very stressful. If I was a psychopath I would maybe enjoy killing people but after 5 years that would catch up with me. Saving lives is honorable and has some legitimately useful skills so I’d choose that. Killing people with magic is kinda a crutch. (Also saving lives can encompass more than emergency responders)
