So, Woven Together 1 performed quite well. We got two threads out of it! And although we don’t speak of WT1.5, I’ve been throwing together ideas for this in my head for a while now, and I’m so happy to be showing you all the culmination of everything I’ve been working on in the past seven months or so.
For those who are new, well, I suppose I could take a tour down memory lane before we begin.
The Story So Far
Last time, our players arrived from the 24 Outer Provinces to the School of Weavers (don’t worry, we’re not doing the train bullshit again), a school run by the Lexicon to train Weavers in how to use their powers properly. They ended up getting initiated (forcibly dragged) into a secret sparring club known as the Cross Stitch Society, until the Inner Circle caught them and made them stop. Then they broke into Deep Zero (secret lab complex under school), and a certain Monica Lenue caused a power overload in a mysterious artefact called the Shattered Horn.
Later on, a student named Will Nguyen mysteriously vanished, and an investigation broke out to find out what happened, and Abacus Salazar, Will’s best friend, was set up as the culprit, but it was revealed he was being used by Monica (real name Areti), who was Will’s real kidnapper, as well as the Absolute Seamstress (basically the goddess of Weavings) who was drawing power from as many Weavers as possible to be powerful enough to cause the Second Perfect Storm, a repeat of a cataclysmic event known as the Perfect Storm, which almost destroyed the world about a millennium prior to our party’s adventures. Fortunately, the party were able to stop Areti and the Storm, and she was returned to who-knows-where. The CSS was turned into an official club, and Abacus’ artificial superintelligence (AkyrOS) assists with running the school. Everything is okay… right?
Noteworthy context
The year is 2076. You are a Weaver from the Outer Provinces of Wevaria, still alive after the Second Perfect Storm and watching the nation repair itself. You are due to come to the School of Weavers very soon. A Weaver is a person born with enough Fabric (weird mind magic energy) to be able to utilise it as magic called Weavings. No one knows how or why the Lexicon (government/military/police) can find the Weavers and bring them to the School to be trained. They just can, and it is known to be necessary. Lucky you! You happened to win the genetics lottery so you are one of these people? Fun… right?
