You all asked for another...here you go, Arcane Odyssey Riddle pt. 2

ok so:
we know that durza has kind of spread his soul throughout the world, right? he’s got these different eyes keeping track of the world.
now, in the riddle it says “hang on or be humbled AGAIN”. this is clearly talking to the player, like the rest of the riddle.
now, who do we know was humbled? durza. durza accidentally revived a random peasant, who ended up defeating him.
i believe the player of AO is durza. how? here’s my explanation
the peacekeeper ‘kills’ durza, causing a massive explosion in the seventh sea, right? this just means he kills durza’s most powerful body, and the host for all his curses.

anyway, i think that one of durzas phantom eyes probably survived, and inhabited the body of some random wizard in the southern sea.
since durza is basically dead, hades’s control over him has been severed.

this means durza has a fresh start and a chance of being a good person, and since only a small part of his soul survived, his memories are fragmented.

durza must choose between 1 (chaos), and 10 (most likely the peacekeeper).
now, by saturn ascends, it’s clearly referencing kronos in some capacity. either this means literally kronos is ascending, or it means someone similar to kronos ascended.

think of the kronos eating babies incident. isn’t there a lot of parallel to durza and the peacekeeper? durza unknowingly lets the peacekeeper loose, just how kronos unknowingly sets zeus loose.

saturn ascends could easily be referring to the AO protagonist, durza, gaining power in the war seas, and “choose 1 or 10” could mean the difference between durza choosing his old path, becoming a ferverent warmongerer, and ending up defeated again by the peacekeeper, being humbled again, or durza rejecting that path and going in a more peaceful route, siding with the peacekeeper, and hanging on.
:fr: there is my magnum opus

It’s not Durza, sorry.

ok what the fuck

how the fuck would it be durzza

I think what he’s trying to say is that when Durza exploded, all of the particles from him came back into the creation of the AO Player

he doesnt have a single physical form… u know? he’s split into multiple. think horcruxes but not really cause there’s actually a lot of differences between durza’s soul and horcruxes

I’m going to participate, finally. I haven’t read most of the replies on this topic.

My first thought of the left image is that of the PK. The dove holding the olive(?) branch symbolizes peace, and they’re flying over the sea.

peace → peacekeeper
sea → seven seas

My first thought at the right half of the image is of Zeus.

eagle, lightning → zeus

But the gods are dead, so its not likely that Zeus himself is part of this. But maybe his thunderbolt? The war seas are where Mount Olympus used to be, before it was unexisted by that war lol. So that exists.

There’s also the direct contrast between the symbolism of peace and the symbolism of war.

lightning, night → chaos, strife
war seas → war

So that suggests a conflict of some sort to me, with the war-seas, potentially the AO protag themself, fighting the Peacekeeper. Depending on how long everything in the AO story takes, the PK may very well arrive at the war-seas, to take the curse vaults in possession of the war-seas’ factions.

thoughts?

you very nicely summed up quite a lot of this entire thread.

PK is the dove, the sea is possibly the seven seas,

Zeus is probably not the eagle, and I will remind you that his thunderbolt is only a thing in Percy Jackson, in normal mythos he just throws them around like sand.

I got the best theory yet that hasn’t been repeated 200 times(/s).

What if PK is the dove and our AO character is the Eagle but it represents different endings like AA had a fairly good ending where everyone was living happily ever after, what if the war seas got a bad ending that only saved them from complete destruction and that’s why the New Greeks moved to Magius.

Game-play wise I don’t know how that would be scripted but I too came across the thought of two different paths, that’s why I’m trying to figure out, what is the difference between the actions of PK and the actions of the people who overthrew their kings in olden times.
I researched the unchosen one trope before and came across this example where whether you kill the guardian or not you still become the unchosen hero. So the paths are different but ending is the same.

@liu did tech-senpai ask you to put “His Dark Materials” as the sound track.

I may or may not have read the summaries of it

Unsure if i’m allowed to say so uh

yesn’t

but damn you’re actually digging outside of the base content which is cool af. keep it up

How about you just tell us and then see if you were allowed to say later

i’ve READ his dark materials :sunglasses: :fire: :sunglasses:

I had a giant all-in-one book that i accidentally stole from a friend. Got 3/4 of the way total and when i was watching the show i recognized a lot of the names. Lo and behold i’d read most of the series and can’t distinctly remember much beyond the larger parts of the story and my lov for Iorek (the entire reason I remembered the series)

I’ve already said too much because i forgot to ask prior lmaooo

somewhat unrelated but i wonder how many curse users are just sitting at the bottom of the ocean, unconscious

that might actually happen in AO, who knows, there’s a lot of curse users in the war seas, im sure one of them fell into the sea and just got straight up abandoned

Curse users can’t drown?

i dont think they need food water or air so probably lol :fr:

I read the entirety of His Dark Materials, it’s a really deep series but honestly it’s too deep. It tries to cause the reader to think about “right” and “wrong”, “good” and “evil”, but it forces those questions on them and fails to force answers as well.
All in all it wasn’t subtle enough for me, but it is a good series.

But besides that… the question is has tech read the series???

I’ll try ask him tomorrow morning, but I checked discord chat and he makes no mention of “his dark” or “dark materials” or daemons
As far as “His Dark Materials” is concerned I haven’t nearly read enough summaries on it but the only thing that’s closest to that and this riddle is one of the people has a daemon which is an osprey. Osprey being an eagle.

Now SPOILERS:

Parry was a shaman. He was capable of entering a trance and travelling in spirit
After becoming a shaman, he met Lord Asriel. He told Asriel about the Alaska window. Asriel told Parry about his plan to lead a rebellion against the Authority

Can you imagine my astonishment, in turn, at learning that part of my own nature was female, and bird-formed, and beautiful
“part of my own nature was female” links to an analysis of jimmy by TOOL I found in which the person analysing talks about the song in a more universally-adapted way rather than just Jimmy and his traumatic experience. Which is a person tapping into his anima, more feminine side.

More about the Osprey:
She had a regal authority over others as she had the ability to command a flock of birds into attacking one of the zeppelins, because of this she was called the “eagle queen” by Lee Scoresby. She had the ability to fly great distances away from John, similar to a witch’s daemon.

TL;DR : this is all a huge stretch so I put this here to save y’all from needless researching
