You are tasked with adding one element of realism in AO. What is it?

I think we need more memery as long as it doesn’t affect the story. Especially if the story gets dark or something, having these moments of light heartedness would be nice in-between updates to keep new players entertained trying to look for more.

That is a great element of realism.
Here is another great element of realism: Strength is removed and strength weapons cease to exist.

ok another element of realism
no magic
only weapons
also no moves
theres only weapon m1s
no weapon aura either

you forgot about fighting styles, realistically only boxing and basic even exist, and even then they’d be shit compared to a dagger

No amount of martial arts training will save you from one clean knife wound

“just parry bro”
(nah but it’s true, one clean stab and you’re screwed)

inventory encumbrance

Cooking minigame, it’s that one little minigame where a bar has a little white space where you have to click/hit space. If you do so, you’ll heat up the food nice and warm, if you miss, your food gets burnt each time. Depending on how well you do it, it either gives you an enhanced version of the average food, or it’s turned into burnt crap. This is optional, it’s the difference between actually cooking and just tossing ingredients into a pot.

Handkerchief or Towels to clean yourself up, I don’t want that nasty “Dirt” mechanic on me without diving like 30 times underwater, if anything, you’d be hella sticky and dirty. Have you tried washing off at the beach after being full of sand/dirt? Disgusting. You have to wash these after a few uses, it’s just an easier way to get dirt off of you, and more compact.

Pasarol and Umbrelals to cover you from the sun and rain. One keeps you from becoming burnt by the sun and thus giving you that… tone. And the other one can keep you from being applied with the soaked status, and will be destroyed after a few seconds of coming into contact with the rain of the Dark Sea. It has a little durability bar, very low, but it will go down from the rain. This keeps you from saving it and using it constantly, as well as being destroyed mid-combat because why the hell would you use it mid-combat.

Better/natural animations. Also resting animations like sitting, meditating, sleeping, etc will actually increase your health regen after a few seconds. Again, not usable in combat because why would you.

A rework the power system/politics, I’m sorry but individuals that are stronger than like 99% of the population combined would not make for a political situation that is found in the game.

It would a nearly alien system because unlike in our system where the bigger population means more power, it’s if instead of system of 100’s of people making a system where 3 people can end the whole it’s now 1 person able to end the world

(Personally there is one of 2 ways I can see this: a hellish dictatorship and/or tyranny by the masses where magic is out right outlawed because the possibly of one person overpowering the common people)

(A second change would the the tech of the game, while understandable it would be a general a lesser need, simply magic would make a lot of technologies much easier to advance, think about something as simple as conducting electrical circuits, or different heating of metals)

A funny feature would be to add doctors, who can operate on you when you need them. I think it would be funny if you had to remove arrows, bullets, shards from wood/glass magic, etc through surgery. Like, you can no longer regen your way out of being shot, you have to get the projectile removed.

addition to that: wherever the projectile hit you, it applies a unique debuff, such as slower attack speed on arms(if the attack uses arm-based animations), less distance on dodges and slower running/walking speed(along with slower attack speed on leg-based animations), and if its on the torso, it periodically deals a subtle yet crippling amount of damage(so the longer it isn’t treated, the more detrimental it gets)
oh and head injuries result in reduced vision, lower FOV, and generally, just reduced visual and auditory stuff

Colossal Cleave should Gojo whoever it hits

Every time you get defeated, the storyline changes to match that defeat (and it’s unchangeable). For example, if you lost against Calvus during phase 1 on your first try, Calvus instead takes you to the Order of Aesir for experimentation or something. If you beat Calvus first try, it would just be the current storyline (also you loot all his drops).

Sound pretty cool but it would be annoying unless the bossfight is balanced

Calvus is an easy boss fight though
Also you’d prob have a rematch after you go through the Kaneki experience from the Order of Aesir

Yes but although for newbie, it would be very hard until they learn

Players now have to do taxes and send them to the nearest kingdom every ingame 12 months
(time measured same as character age counter)

you can’t parry a weapon with your hand, that’s just getting stabbed

the closest thing to a parry irl would be redirecting the knife hand in another direction

Honestly, I would add a slider to control your ship speed and next to the slider (top or bottom) would be a text box saying how fast your ship is going and you can put in your own number but it maxes out at your ship top speed and 1
