If you had power to re-work, delete, or change the bounty/fame system and obtainment of the badges’n stuff. Whwt would you do to change it or would you keep it as it is?
Saying this because of crewhands and stuff being re-worked in a different way to be obtained and this caused me tot hink about this question
Example: (Don’t take this seriously its just an example)
make bounty and fame reset monthly ( after the deckhand is reworked meaning those two are nothing but ranking points now )
if 2 or more people try to hunt one person, that person can earn twice the ammount of renown they would get while the hunters could lose twice the normal ammount they would lose ( crimsonpants’ idea )
no nvm fck it, if two or more people try to hunt one person, that person gains a stats buff similar to boss
Hunting a person that is considerably lower renown than you (500k trying to hunt a 50k or below) will reap you lower rewards, alert your target, and humiliate you on AGORA news if you lost to them.
Multiple person hunting a single person will have shared rewards, but split in percentage. If the target manages to kill multiple hunters they get HUGE rewards, and gives you a badge called “One Man Army” (only given if they are of equal renown, 3 people, and if they are of 500k renown, the hunters I mean)
You cannot hunt low levels who have not completed the story, but low levels who did not complete the story can hunt other players as well as low levels as long as you are on the same story arc, you cannot hunt as a Nimbus Sea story player against a Bronze Sea story player, and you also cannot hunt them if your level is past 100.
Ability to hunt multiple bounties max of 3 players, the higher the number of targets you choose the shorter the alert interval is (2 Targets means 3 minutes before they are alerted that you are hunting them, it will happen instantly if you are within their vicinity, this is to induce risk for the bounty hunter while not reaping the rewards too much, dying to one of them will cause you to lose your renown to the highest famed/bounty player, and the lower ones will get your renown too equal to what their renown is with 50% reduced reward to them)
Renown is reset to 1 million after every month or so. For newer players to compete with and a chance for them to be at the top.
Higher renown (1 million) players will now scare nearby NPCs, villains and NAVY notoriety ships, they’ll say things that facing you is not worth it making navy ships appearing to hunt you becoming rare to you, however there is a small chance that ONE high ranking navy NPC will attempt to stop you (level 300 commodores). This is so that they are a bit safer from unfortunate NPCs whittling them down to low HP and players stealing the kill.
Low renown players (below 500k) will no longer be able to get feats from killing a leaderboard player.
Rewards for dedicated bounty hunting/poster changes:
Navy members with feats will have medals of honor/badges on their torso if they hunted tyrants, emperors, overseers, architects, etc.
A separate FEAT section will appear upon inspecting one’s poster with detailed and specific feats, such as “Fended off 3 bounty hunters alone” , “Won against a clan battalion alone (3-5 players)” , “500 Confirmed kills” , “1000 Confirmed bounty hunts” , etc.
Unique vanity sets/accessories for leaderboard players, such as re-skinned weapons.
(There could be more to add onto but idk, my first wall of text lol)
I love these, but a level 300 commodore coming to buttfuck you sounds stupidly annoying. It also doesnt even fix the kill stealing issue, as you’re 100% losing to a commodore. Kai is only beatable because he has 2 skills, imagine one chasing you across the map with 2 magics and 2 fighting styles.
Ah about that, you are alerted almost instantly that a High Ranking Navy is about to hunt you, you can easily evade this by going to a different Island, if you do you’ll be notified that the High Rank Navy does not care anymore and moves on. (They have better things to do) they are to arrive at your locations approximately 10 minutes after, you’ll be alerted again that the high rank navy is getting closer on 5 minute mark.
Defeating this High Ranker however, will grant you 20k renown upon defeat, granted if you actually get this event since It is going to be very rare to happen, didn’t really want to add onto it anymore because it’s getting too long.
EDIT: Forgot to mention they’re also a different set of NPCs, they are CHAMPION NPCs that have a fixed class loadout, so you won’t be seeing 3 magic and 3 fighting styles on them.
100k renown should no longer completely lock off all dark sea enemies and agora mentions. why does nuking a pirate sailboat with your 4k strength ram still give out renown? if anything i really think agora mentions should stay, even if they’re reduced.
overall the system is in a bad spot for people trying to climb due to the whole 150k and below thing, and assassin syndicate players having way too little risk when bounty hunting or being hunted. it can get really difficult to climb fame at a certain point, especially considering the only use it even has is for deckhands.
it’s a fun system but some of the current balancing choices make it rough, i think if it got some tweaks both pvp and pve players would enjoy it more.
