Sometimes they don’t want to fight someone their level. Sometimes they wanna play on easy mode.
And hey, they usually suck ass, so if you are a half competent player, you can just get on your (presumably maxed) main and then you can just crush their ass in cold blood 
presuming they wont just log when you join on your main file
Most likely because of the problem that people have an entirely huge power gap between low level and max level players so they can pretty much do whatever they want to low levels, and yeah you can rejoin in your max file but as misinput said, presuming they wont log and if you follow them to get your revenge, it just ends up as witch hunting
