DEVS! GIVE ME A DRAGON TAIL AND DRAGON HORNS FOR NEXT HALLOWEEN, AND MY LIFE IS YOURS!
OVERALL THOUGHTS
This year’s Easter Event is a step-up from last year’s, although to be fair, the bar was in an Abyssal Spot. Now is it better than 2023’s Event? I’m honestly not sure; whether that’s because it’s been two years since then or because I’m genuinely mixed on that question is for you to decide. There were some highs are far as an actual egg hunt goes, but there were also some “exact same thing as the past two years” and “literally get yourself killed” eggs sprinkled in there.
EXPLORATION EGGS
Nothing to really say about these, other than me being glad that only one of them (The Watermelegg) is even slightly luck-based, compared to the asinine NINE Eggs from last year. I like how the Cloud Egg showed me that there’s an extra storage room in Fort Talos with a cauldron, since I doubt I would ever notice it. I am annoyed that the Cloud Egg is most likely unobtainable on my storyless Knight, but that’s okay; I have THIRTEEN OTHER FILES that can get it
My least favorite egg in this category, and what would’ve been my least favorite in general, would have to be the Maelstrom Egg, by virtue of its riddle pointing to finding it below Tidecliff Isle’s whirlpools, yet in actuality, it was directly in the middle above the surface. My ego be damned, because I actually had to use up Seaweed to make Waterbreathing potions just for it.
CHEF AND BREWER’S EGGS
If it weren’t for Moochezz managing to cram in the new crafting UI at the last minute into the main game, these two would’ve been the worst of the lot, but instead they’re actually tolerable. Being able to craft multiples of the same thing at one time is a blessing.
COMBAT EGGS
Easy and inoffensive enough; main annoyance is how you have to finish a full Fort Castrum raid for the Superheated Egg. You’d think that the Apex Egg would be even worse, since you’d have to find and kill a White Eyes, but finding one isn’t hard. Why?
These things are CRACKED when you need sharks fast. Grind out Star Coral, and use Shark Teeth that you’ve probably found from chests to make Bleeding 1 Nova Potions. Then throw one into the ocean and watch a shark magically appear! If you kill it, odds are you’ll get more shark teeth, and eventually you should get more teeth than what you used.
The best use for these is easily finding Poison Jaws (which is great, since naturally-spawned ones are buggy, making getting their drops more of a pain than it needs to be), and White Eyes. Sure, it’s a small chance, but it’s worthwhile nonetheless.
EDIT: Turns out that Pinecones and Sky Pinecones also work, but those spawn the shark deeper into the sea depending on where the potion shatters. Nova and Supernova Potions shatter directly on the surface, so the shark always spawns there too.
CASTAWEGG
Its own section since I don’t know where else to put it; it’s easy enough if you’re lucky, but not if you aren’t. I think it’s guaranteed though, so it’s automatically better than most Easter 2024 eggs.
EDIT: Turns out it’s not guaranteed. I lied. Sorry.
GOLD EGG
This egg is my least favorite by virtue of it being the exact same as the Bronze Egg (2023) and Silver Egg (2024). It’s not bad, but it’s just really boring seeing it pop up again and again. Calling it now, next Easter Event will have a Rusty Egg found in the exact same way.
FINAL REWARDS
- As a certified furry, I approve of the bunny ears and tail. I could see myself using them for a while after the event ends, to be perfectly honest. It’s also nice that both the Ears and Tail can be dyed; was sort of expecting it for the Ears, but not on the Tail.
- The Bunny Sails remind me of that one BHOP game. Don’t know why.
RATING
Between the Easter Events, I’d say you could reasonably put either 2023 or 2025 at the top and I wouldn’t care. 2024 goes at the bottom though; we don’t talk about 2024. 2025 itself would probably get a 7.8/10 7/10.
Between all events, I’d say most of the Easter Events go above Halloween 2024, since that was mostly a grindfest, especially towards the end with Julius’ candy shop. This event has no chance against Yuletide, though.
