Glitching’s post wanted me to make this.
We all know that we missed out on some potentially really cool weapons with new signature moves and skills, but no. It would’ve been so cool to have a flaming greatsword or a cold rapier, but apparently the pvpheads and kids who forget to read the whole sentence saw third weapon skills and just pounced on it. If they decide to give vindicator, Sabre, or scimitars a third skill…. Oh boy.
Why can’t both options be good? I just dont understand why we have to keep bringing this up.
Why discuss if no agreement will be made? Why discuss if the outcome won’t change. Why discuss if nothing is to come from it.
Ill give one point, to the thing that CAN change. 3rd weapons skills should go to weapons not regularly used by players, to have weapon users have more variety.
Something I should probably mention now that we know the next weapon skill being added.
Flying Phoenix should be usable by hybrids if I’m to believe that it is an option for the Ravenna sword to use (130 weapon req).
Yeah, just saying it’s an option, not necessarily the best one though. It really comes down to whether or not Flying Phoenix is powerful enough of a skill to warrant using it over Sunken Sword.
(Best case scenario you have 2 viable skills vs 2 viable skills, worst case just use Sunken sword or something else)
Third weapon skills shouldve came in nimbus and we get rare weapons now. It just doesn’t make sense that the update about adding a ton of new content and replay value to the game is the update that gives a few weapons some extra abilities only one build can realistically use, and sacrifices something that would be way more thematically appropriate and imo fun (imagine the stuff we could’ve gotten if rare weapons were voted, it’d be so cool) for it when the update about well, progression and story and stuff is right after. Also do we even know if we’re getting whatever dark sea weapons vetex had planned in nimbus sea or even any rare weapons at all?
Im a warrior and there are no new unique weapons with sick ass skills or some lore behind it and the people voted for 2-4 new skills which will be reskins on different weapons when used
Because the fact they had to be exclusive was a useless addition and was unhelpful entirely, but people still act like it was a good idea. It wasn’t.
The few weapons getting third skills likely will more obviously shows the other problem warriors have of little build variation, now being more obvious because it’s the few weapons with third skills being used for builds.
This also unnecessarily hurts hybrids which get half the things other builds get this update in the case of conjurers and warlords, and absolutely nothing in the case of knight.
Ravenna sword doesn’t fix this, it feels more like a spit in the face.
I see zero justification for these two being exclusive when both being added would benefit both sides, and I see no reason why they should have been such a small amount of third weapon skills.
At the very least I hope to convince some people that this isn’t a good change, and at most I want to try and get vetex to change his mind about making them exclusive
I’m so excited for weapon ultimate arts to be added just to hear a bunch of people complain about not being able to use them on hybrid builds.
Rare weapons will eventually come and so will more weapon skills. But honestly I really just want third skills simply because warrior is at a disadvantage in most fights when all other weapon hybrids can get nearly all the same skills as them. (triasta and vindicator excluded)
Sorry hybrids for not voting for the fancy rare weapons.
I personally just want to see third weapon skills because Hybrids already get enough (proper) use out of Rare Weapons (Sunken Sword, Poison Tooth Dagger, all Elius Drops) or substitutes (Commodore Kai’s Sabre, Silent Blades, or Greenwish Cultist Staff), and I don’t exactly like the idea of Warriors having less abilities than Mages and Berserkers not because of weapons themselves, but because of time constraints preventing more than two Skills per Weapon from being added (or three if your name is Axe). On top of that, the Vindicator is already not well-liked, so imagine if we were to instead get a Katana with Ethereal Flash and a Greatsword with Rising Tide, just altered a little.
Again third weapon skills could’ve and should’ve been in a separate update when there could’ve been more third weapon skills added. My main problem with it this update is how the tiny amount of skills actively limits what warriors use even more so than prior updates.
well thats not true. It gives more variety rather than otherwise. As long as its not skills for meta items it will be a lot better and the more weapons affected by the skill addition the better. Hence why Flying Phoenix is such a great 3rd skill to add since it affects 4 weapons.
While not out of the realm of possibility as with all things, i find it rather unlikely to happen. Hybrids already don’t have access to Magic and FS ultimate arts, and no one appears to have complained about it.
So i doubt the same would even apply to Wep Hybrids, other than complaints rn about the janky prioritization from Vetcord. It would’ve been much cooler, better, and provide the near exact same results of 3rd wep skills if two rare weps were added.
If we had gotten 2 rare weps instead:
Would have filled the 2-4 new 3rd wep skills by them simply existing. Cause all rare weps have a unique skill in there. (Which includes boss drops.)
Would’ve followed the 1 for Hybrids 1 for Pure paths, in which Pure paths have more access on the hybrid given addition, and a exclusive thing to boot.
Meaning we would’ve gotten another Sunken sword for comparison, and something like the Vindicator which could’ve spiced things up.
I’ve said this example MULTIPLE times yet you keep thinking otherwise:
Why would warriors use the ones other than third weapon skills when that actively limits themselves? Why would they have a skill or two less when they have an options that gives them the max amount of available skills they have?
with the amounts being added, this is what it’s very likely that builds end up looking like this:
2 third weapon skills + some rare weapon, little variety
3 third weapon skills, no variation
4 third weapon skills used in rotation, little variation
