Pleaseeee I’m not good at the game Vertex I just wanna switch without going through the absolute wringer

Hell yeah

Please god, let this come true, the more this game updates, the more im convinced testers dont do jack. The essence spawning in i3+ is one thing, the fk island generation is another thing. WHY THE HELL ARE THERE SO MANY VOLCANOES and god fk forbid u climb tall ass islands. Bonus action: Atlantean ship spawning in front of you the moment u find a doable island

oh my god is this basic QoL?? GASPS

Yeah this is getting a full star rating and bump from me.

I ain’t been playing lately so Idk how bad it is really, but from the sounds of it, yeah no this needs to change.

epic the musical

I still think magic should’ve been implemented into scrolls.

Like I get that vetex wants to keep magic resets hard to get so people aren’t constantly shifting to the meta but frankly this system is just way too annoying

The way I see it, if Vetex had a few more additions, with the essence system being the icing on the cake, then I’d consider going to Far Reaches myself since past Range 2 Atlanteas are cracked with levels between 250-399 and how absurd one of their skill damage could get.

Truth be told, aside from bugs, I don’t really mind exploring huge asf islands that spawned before me, gives different challenges no matter how same structure were used.

That would be hella nice, as finding such a game-changing event on your character would feel like you’ve hit the spot as players approach the anomalous mist/marker and illumination across the Dark Seas.

Until we get more cooler items and mechanics from further updates there is no need to risk ourselves against impossible enemies for the slightest.

1/12 would be reasonable if we could immediately know when and where an essence spawns.

Asking people to climb and explore every inch of mount orthys+ on average 12 times (usually many many more because they don’t succeed in exploring every inch) is nothing short of ridiculous.

I still think its too much on the basis that changing magic frankly shouldn’t be this hard to begin with. There is absolutely no reason for it when EVERY other class can just click a couple buttons or go to an NPC and change their whole kit fundamentally.

This goofy essence brings me so much pain please

Yes please.
As a (relativly new) player that choose light for their first save, i can just agree with making it easier to find- every other class can change features immediatly, but we gotta do seventeen years of farming, or so it feels- and the argument that you can just make a new save if you do not like your magic that some people use isn’t valid at all due to needing time to actually figure out if you enjoy your magic or not.

An additional thing to add to this:
Why not simply let us try out the full magic effects in the beginning? Like a tiny tutorial?
Would hurt noone and it would be relativly easy to create.

How about this: Upon approaching the Hecate Essence, the player character will begin to hallucinate before passing out, darkening the screen and returning to the magic selection screen. Same as at the beginning, except there should be a button to ‘play-test’ the said magic at full capacity, teleporting you to a sandbox-like private server to test out magic with adjustable stats (magic size, power, speed, agility, etc.). You can return to the selection within your private server via a button. This gives the opportunity to try out magics in full extend and even further.

Due to the testing and destruction that takes place around the sandbox, if the player decides to leave the play test server or chooses the specific magic for their liking, their ship will store any Dark Sea chests in the ship’s storage and spawn a nearby island that’s on the map. (Or could be closer to the base spawn points or clan-controlled ones idk)

That would be a good idea, albeit it would also be needed for the start of the game

yup, another aryan classic

This could work in this way:

If the player chooses to playtest during the character creation screen, they will only use the selected magic for playtesting.

Meanwhile, for Hecate Essences, if the player’s character build is a mage or mage-hybrid, they can playtest the selected magic with additional skills they’ve had in their moveset. This allows advanced players with builds to try out new synergies and different stat/combo mixes they had in their moveset.

idk why mages need to jump through hoops like this to change their magic when strength users just need to talk to an npc and m1 a new enemies and weapon users can just equip smoething else

If we’re talking about lore and in-game narrative, there’s a chance that people are born with magical affinities, so it’s not like you can change it in the normal way, where you can learn fighting styles just by talking to your particular trainer.

“Magic is a power that only those lucky enough to be born with it can possess, allowing the user to control and direct their magic energy by summoning magic circles. This energy takes on the properties of the magic type the caster is born with, such as fire, ice, lightning, and many more.”

I told y’all :sleeper:
