Magic changing has finally been added… very badly!
I don’t know what testers gave the go ahead on this as it has released but every single one of them that did should be removed for incompetence/straight up lying.
This is terrible. A 1/12 chance to appear on an island the size of mount orthys (if not bigger) and you can only see it if you get within sneezing range of it.
Don’t get me started on generation errors and the essence spawning inside of terrain in the rare instances it does spawn.
The Far Reaches:
The islands are too big, too rare, and the atlanteans are far too strong.
What? We aren’t supposed to go past the second range? Then why is essence there?
Essences should spawn in ranges 2, 3, 4, and 5 with the chances of them appearing increasing the further you go from 10% in the second range to 50% in the fifth.
Essences Themselves:
They should be visible from any point on an island via a bright sky beam.
You should receive invulnerability while interacting with an essence.
To fix generation issues, essences, when they spawn, should also always appear on the island’s peak.
There is absolutely no reason for magic changing to be this absurd.
Vetex, you literally retconned minds and straight up said mages could just change magic through study prior to this.
I get why that wouldn’t be good in gameplay, but holy shit did you have to go this far?
1/10 is still obscenely rare for islands the size of those in the far reaches.
Most of the time even if it does generate, you just aren’t going to find it.
