Most of that is going to be the sailing to get to the Far Reaches in the first place.
How to change up your moveset!
Weapons: swap weapon
Vitality Spirit: swap weapon
Strength: Find a mentor, then go to Fort Talos and grind out your new FStyle’s mastery.
Magic: Prepare your brig, and sail to the dark sea. You’re going to need to head out to the fourth range, which is when you receive insanity 3 and it says you’ve reached “The Far Reaches.” Sailing this far should only take around 25 minutes if your brig is well optimized for speed. Once you’ve reached insanity 3, every island is gonna have a 1/12 chance of having this Hecate Essence you so desire. Your only option now is to fully explore every single one you see before you can be relatively certain there’s no Hecate Essence.
Here, you can see the droprates:
Not too brutal, you’re only gonna need systematically search every inch of ~24 islands unless you’re one of those unlucky people who can miss a 90% chance gamble (ignoring any potential issues like the Hecate Essence clipping into the floor where you can’t reach it, but if it does I recommend searching 24 more islands just to be sure. You’ve got a 99% chance if you search 53 islands after all.)
It should be noted at this point that the islands have extremely high level atlanteans. At this level they run at insane speeds and deal more damage than Zeus himself, so you’re going to have to avoid line of sight to them at all costs. As long as you can do this you should be fine, just don’t die because if you do you’ll have to spend 25 minutes sailing again. I recommend using a very high agility build, as that will allow you to scale the mountains easier. (Though it’s not gonna be enough to escape the atlanteans.) REMEMBER THAT INVISIBILITY DOESN’T WORK ON ATLEANTEANS ANYMORE! You will die if you attempt this!
Alternatively, if this doesn’t sound worth the effort, you can always make a new slot. The best speedrunners can reach max level in under three hours, (but don’t do this because you’ll get auto-banned for exploiting) so it shouldn’t take you too long. This method is just for those who have slots with 100+ hours that they don’t wanna give up. If you really don’t like your magic, you can also always stat reset to a stat build that doesn’t use magic.
I hope this guide helps, and good luck in your future buildmaking!
i was right that the new magic reset was gonna suck ass
great job vetex, you added another feature that favored being “cool and flashy” over being actually well-designed and intuitive, and ended up making finding magic resets more miserable than starting over on a new file
have you considered that the game isn’t finished yet? just give the devs some time to work out the kinks smh.
contrarian spotted.
respectfully, please explode
mods, revoke his voting license
What site did you use for those odds btw
I’m coping that hectate’s essence is just a band-aid fix that Vetex will replace by giving us base magic scrolls along with lost magic scrolls
honestly I prefer the essence route.
I just think it was executed extremely poorly here.
I wish I still knew the math formula to calculate this myself.
Only now, well after I’ve forgotten it, do I have literally any use for it.
a unfinished game is zero excuse for a feature being horribley designed
how is it horribly designed though it serves its function perfectly well
it barely appears at low graphics even at high graphics its difficult to see from a distance its a 1/12 chance on islands bigger than mount others so you’ll likely miss it even if it did spawn oh not to mention it can spawn inside walls oh and yeah you have to deal with level 300-400+ Atlanteans (I refuse to believe ur not trolling)
you gotta be trolling if you think the current system is ok
just use a better pc ez
(yes i am trolling but i genuinely think this is a bad suggestion, beacons are unnecessary and the whole issue could be fixed if the devs made the particles using UI frames rather than particle emitters, since that uncaps the render distance)
I guess bait still is believable after all
your ENTIRE problem with the suggestion is that you don’t like sky beams…?
that’s it???
