True although a synthesizer is still more of a tool that requires some skill to be used, generating images off of a prompt isn’t

The thing with ai is rather than using it as a tool to aid an artist, people are using it as a replacement to an artist
Here’s an anology:
A chef uses a knife, pan, stove, etc. to make a steak to sell at his restaurant. He is using his own skills to create that meal, these skills are built upon hours or even years of practice
vs
A factory uses machine, automations, robots, etc, to make a steak tv dinner to sell at stores. While there could be workers managing the machines and automations, the meal wasn’t cooked by a chef or even human beings at all.
The chef uses the tools at his disposal to create something, while machines are used to replace the need for chefs.

there are effectively 0 regulations on ai usage that i am aware of
ppl could do whatever they want with ai but they can’t take the blame since ai is the one doing all the stealing, the person making the ai do the work might not even realize how ai art works if they lived under a rock

You still need to know music theory to make good sounding music, with ai though I could just say “SpongeBob with a fedora and money” and I get a shit image with 0 effort in it after putting in 0 effort

Google maps is a tool based on a database that the creators legally own.
Ai image generation is a program that grabs bits and pieces from works that the generator creator does not own. They have no legal ownership of the works used in the generator. If every image used for Ai image generation was used with permission, then it would not be theft, and I would have no problem with it in the moral sense.
I am not talking about databases, I am talking about the algorithm behind it.
