Arcane Abyss Sea, the Atlantean Infection AU

not really, whitesummit is at the southern tip of pelion

nah i prefer anon’s or the other guy i forgot his nname story where thallbjorn comes back, mutates in the night and kills/infects everyone

i like the one where its the sea that infects them

I mean the fish we catch from the dark sea have nothing wrong with them, they just grow bigger and more nutritious so arguably redwake is an even better position then before, along with natural defensibility through the jaws (also no way redwake only has 300, I’d say 3000, with ~750 warriors). The spires would also break up any rougue waves that would otherwise wash the whole town away. If worse came to worse, the redwakers could build a new town on the top level of the jaws or hollow out spires and hide in those

2 days till abyss sea 1 year anniversary

How common do you guys think magic usage is? (as a percentage of the population)

Knoeing durza? >5%

Have you ever built a farm in the game

I’d say maybe between 5 and 20% because magic seems common enough that some gravy marines can use it but not so common that more than say 1/5 can

Counterpoint
Because of the dark sea expanding and such, it’s safe to assume that seawater toxicity has gotten more intense, so much so, that the fish that mutate in it also get infected

Brother that’s the game trying to be logical
Saltwater is deadly for crops, or at least, they slow its water intake efficiency, sometimes so much so it just dries the plant

But that would be in deeper layers? Isn’t the war seas just the new insanity 0 layer?

Its just world generation magic is way more rare in lore, besides only strong people go work in gravy

nope
think of it this way
theres the fog there seperates the war seas from the dark seas, which, coincidentally, also seperates seawater from toxic

this would mean that it ‘wards’ off the magic pollution, forcing it to retreat and thereby creating the different ranges
if the fog falls, all of the pollution will come rushing back like a tidal wave breaching a dam

We casting warding on everything

Does anyone else hear the voices

They say the gods are dead and we’ve killed them

There’s no way that’s in lore that’s an in game feature, iirc morden found the death curse one the edge of the dark sea, where the weather was rough but not purple, meaning it’s more likely a gradient. the war seas and other clusters must have “vents” that discharge excess magic energy (likely the work of Creation) and this is what leads to the eventual end of the dark sea during the time of WOM

What I’m trying to say is

Imagine how the atmosphere works (we’re using an analogy here)
The higher you go, the less air molecules there are
Eventually there is so little there’s just no air left, at which point space starts
That, is our fog
While the different concentrations of air is the different ranges

My idea is that, when the abyss sea started and the fog fell, it was the equivalent of if the air molecules near ‘space’ had the same air density as that of sea level air molecules
Like they’re being pushed into the stratosphere, and as an anology, magic pollution pushed into the war seas

Ok but that doesn’t make the war seas toxic they’re just the new layer 0 meaning fish from those waters would only grow bigger, not toxic (it just seems like you REALLY want redwake to die)
