Arcane Abyss Sea, the Atlantean Infection AU

Hey, my oc is a siren scout in the War Seas. Do your sirens have that kinda role?

siren scout as in

someone who scouts sirens
or
a scout of siren race?

A scout of siren race
Though The Queen apparently wants to live with humans, so Sirens in the War Seas wouldn’t be agressive. Why would you need to scout for them?

Develop that further, and try to come up with an explanation as to how she even got to the Bronze Sea. And I had a scout siren.

From what I understood, this thing is not likely to cooperate, and will probably be extremely suspicious of an approaching Grand Navy ship that spent years under Dark Sea’s rain, therefore smelling accordingly. What way can I integrate it in the story, while keeping it relevant? As a reoccurent foe? As an unwilling ally? As a random encounter with mixed relationship?

finally found this page today

this isnt even an AU anymore abyss sea canon

It would likely at first assume the ship just has Atlanteans on it that used to be part of the grand navy, but wouldn’t attack immediately like she normally would with the other Atlantean ships upon sensing Walter (guy straight up went to fight the omen head on, and also went to fight the Vastus)

and after barely surviving a different powerful foe[1] would not be so keen to start a fight after sensing Walter

though due to Spectres hunting habits, there is a decent-high chance that simply sailing near sandfall would likely show a large amounts of drifting Atlantean ships with seemingly no crew mainly focused around Sandfall

1 scenario for either direction, just take whatever logical course of action the queen would take, make her a powerful ally or an enemy that can’t be meaningfully crippled

'Foe'

Due to wanting to protect humans as a part of the Siren queens wishes, the threat of a single Atlantean growing in power above the rest could be a cause of concern and wanting to get rid of her before she raises her tier again.

Though she is also likely to flee after a short conflict, any broken or lost limb would cause her to retreat in order to begin regeneration, where she goes would be up to you, but she does fully intend to challenge those who previously beat her upon growing stronger

'Ally'

Note how the vast majority of the ships are Atlantean, an Atlaantean that almost exclusively targets other Atlantean ships could cause questions and arriving in a less aggressive manner when investigating the cause.

Instead of attacking or doing the same challenging stance from when the previous atlanteans boarded their ship numerous times, her unnerving stare upon them reaching the edge of the island would likely tip them off to her higher level of intelligence to allow negotiating (though she would use up a lot of food if they do not consistently allow her to leave to basically go feast on any atlantean ship close enough to sense)

At the same time though, someone like Martin or Ruby Rodger could get her to abandon them simply due to their overwhelming power by comparison (i believe there is a story somewhere mentioning Akursus keep as the main place martin would go and rarely leave that area?)

Serena Zhao, innovator and scout for the Sirens.

  • Born on the home island of the Sirens
  • Engineer and alchemist. Prone to blood diseases due to self - experimentation.
  • So wealthy that most Orthys seas civillians are starstruck and cannot see through the disguises she puts up through magic energy. Ammased said wealth through selling Dark Sea Diamonds, her main study.
  • She is asexual, to the point that she has an aversion to luring people in. This situation is common in many Sirens, and is why many scout, explore, or stay idle at the home island (do you have info on the home island?)
  • Has reached beyond proficiency as a mage with Equinox and Shatter Magic. (Magics and power can be rolled back to her roots of Earth and Light Magic.)
  • Was at an uninhabited sky island above Umber Valley during the events of April 20, 1854. Location after is up to you, though immediate location and action was probably flying to an Orthys lodge to survey the damage.

Here’s the scouting gear that Sirens usually use in my HC, which was posted in Drip Check a while back.

alr cause i wont be doing formatting for everyone, just letting u know :+1:

I wanted to just make her a ship storage lurker, and use her like a ā€œplan Bā€œ button, but with how stealth-heavy my party is about Atlanteans, I ain’t feeding this. Foe it be, then. I already got one reoccuring enemy, the Fin Famine, so now it will be two. I promise to give her some good fights, but she will die eventually

So, does she hunt humans or not?

Uh
Wdym
Hold on I think I worded it poorly in my previous message

What I was trying to say was that I’ve written the basics that bioglol could use for his siren queen thingy when he inevitably introduces my oc, but I haven’t had time to word it properly so it looks more hastily scribbled down than actually formatted, which obviously cannot be put into the trello because then it would look bad

I need more info on Sirens in your verse. But probably not, she just eats fish or anything she can buy. If there’s any conflict on living with humans, she’s on the far side of yes. She even changed her name to blend in easier.

I’m excited to see what you come up with for my character

if you have any questions abt her you may ask at any time and I’ll reply when available

Well, it isn’t mine, its Mirage’s. I just mixed the very little info we have on the Siren Queen, threw in my own character idea of who she is, and went off the small pieces of data on sirens overall, all their self-made ships and stuff

Caught up a bit on your series. Not done yet, but I understand how sirens work there. Having Serena be in exile or a separatist due to the inactivity of moving to The Bright might be a cool point to expand on how long the Sirens have sat idly. Her odd language, at least as heard by the humans, wouldn’t have gotten her far. Sirens do quite like to sing, and she does so routinely at the highest and farthest point from society, since she has to worry about that. She could be oddly in tune with her illusory appearance and augment it using a more utility-based Power. Just a bunch of ideas I’ve had, no cohesive plot for where she is yet.

ohhhh lol i thought you were replying to me to update your oc trello page

dont mind me

Nah its okay dude

This is just that one ordinary thing my characters do that I never put a spotlight on, just like food, water, sleep or whatever. Yeah, it happens daily, but it ain’t worth being noted

I need da lore on Blackreach. Ain’t no way that labyrinth gonna stay empty. Someone go cook up the funny
