Arcane Abyss Sea, the Atlantean Infection AU

Marisa Barion
My OC- In the fighting at Ravenna.

Ravenna
(My interpretation once again)

The last hope of humanity in the Bronze Sea. In the opening hours of the invasion, or the “End Times” as King Calvus so charmingly put it, Atlantean ships appeared on the horizon, first burning Sailor’s Lodge. Fort Talos’ garrison was recalled effective immediately.

The Atlantean invasion force made three separate attacks; one, on the Shining Plains, splitting the island in two and cutting off Tiberia, another outside Rubica, seeking to storm the capital, and the third around Rasna aiming to overwhelm the defenders.

Any man who could fight was ordered to do so; those in the beginning stages of infection organized themselves into Deathsquads, and made s*icidal charges at the Atlanteans, killing thousands before being overwhelmed. Calvus, Julian, and Argos met the Atlantean general in combat, a colossal being with a great dark squid head and burning red eyes, dressed in sable armor and with a sword easily the size of Calvus himself.

The battle lasted for over an hour, and not one Atlantean dared to intervene. In that time, Calvus awakened his curse inheritance, and allegedly, the Atlantean general shrunk back in fear, before being spurred by Calvus to “Stand proud, you’re strong,” before the Ravennan monarch violently bisected the general, and proceeded to flee back into the city with Argos and Julian.

When asked if he would lose to the next Atlantean lord who arrived to oversee the sack of Ravenna, Calvus allegedly quoted, “No, I’d win.”

Ravenna is still under siege. Lady Carina managed to get word to Rubica of the arrival of Atlantean reinforcements, and the siege has lasted for a month. However, the Bronze Legion only has so much manpower, and the grasp of the Atlantean Empire is growing tighter.

meh doing s*icidal charges
seems like bad leadership fitting King Calvus
so it would kill some Atlanteans but a lot more became Atlanteans
(See Japan WW2 the Banzai charges didn’t do much besides effect morale)

nope other Atlanteans would 100% jump Calvus find an other way to hold them off or have them part of the fight (and fiting how he sent everyone to die)

yea uh it’s Lost Magic and uh no it would be cooler if Atlantean general raged before charging in a last attack before being bisected (also bisected doesn’t make sense it would be better if he impaled the head with his Triasta of Bronze/his Trident)

(besides that the rest are nipicks that annoy but doesn’t jump out at me)

Btw @Mirage mind letting me edit the Trello?
i want to start adding peoples OCs and stuff

The solution is simple, we exterminate everyone who can’t use spirit energy

this some suguru geto ahhhh mindset

Megan (my char):
98
(She wants to ‘fix’ all magicless people, because she belives they are slowing soceity down. On top of that, she acts as if being magicless is disability)

In the process of writing a sort of future for Cirrus to put on the Trello. Ping me if anyone has any ideas.

i hope there will be mention of magic-racist?

Megan's Description

Tall, pale woman, wearing white formal suit and black pants. She has a bussiness on Palo Town for cargo trading. Explosion-Ash mage, with 2 “servants” quartermasters, boy (Archibald Silver, brown hair) and girl (Felicia Fitz, blonde, one eyed). On cirrus she has her own large house where not only she has a small storage of skygrape wine, but also a large library of books: her own researches, the coppies of Randal’s lost books and copies of books she found in dark sea, as she held a lot of expeditions to epicenter before.

Always calm and only does something if it will benefit her in any way.

I am planning to do that after I enter all the worldbuilding information, if you wouldn’t mind I would like to be the sole editor of the Trello :'))

ah aright uhh good luck with it!
(btw wouldn’t it be better to use a DND world builder site? meh it’s too late anyways)

This one?

Trello is nice and simple and I don’t think TOO much regarding worldbuilding would change, other than the things we mentioned would be a result of the invasion :+1::+1: I also think that most forumers are familiar with Trello so it would be very convenient

(tried using worldanvil once for a personal writing project, quickly got overwhelmed :sob::sob:)

yea something like that
there was also this one i found https://www.the-goblin.net/

yea the DND world builders are more or less Trello but with some other stuff like maps and we can kind of bootleg in

So curse users have negative reactions to infection, is Morden gonna like explode?

So I found a problem with the trello, and it’s this:

Unholy Beasts are weaker than nightmarish if I recall

Anyways, I personally feel like mount othrys would just either be straight up uninhabited, or by far the most populated, because like it’s the largest island with an extremely hard way to get up, plus it’s apparently completely blockaded by atlanteans, so realistically I don’t really think it would be “small settlement” nor how these survivors had the time to strip down their boats for parts with the atlantean blockade

if you know if this AU was had a opening or a main theme i feel like this would be it:

Here’s my take on the Order of Aesir

Order of Aesir

Prior to the invasion, the Order was essentially the same as it is in the canon timeline. However, in addition to furthering the use of magic by any means, they also monitor the current amounts of magic pollution in the War Seas. In the buildup to the invasion, many order members noticed that the levels of magic pollution in the War Seas started becoming higher than normal, steadily building until it reached a tipping point.

With the mass invasion of Atlanteans in the War Seas, the Order shifted its goals into capturing and studying as many of them as they could in order to learn more about them. Of course, given their shady methods, they also kidnap healthy humans and experiment on them, deliberately infecting them to see if a potential cure can be discovered.

All high-ranking Order members are required to report to the order about the status of the infection in their respective section of the War Seas, but given the fact that both Argos and Calvus have become infected, it means that they’ve effectively lost contact with the Bronze Sea. Time will tell to see if the other Order-affiliated parts of the War Seas retain their leaders.

Morden’s one of many people currently locked up in one of the Order’s testing facilities. He’s been infected after an experiment involving injecting Atlantean blood into a human subject, though the Order’s been keeping his mutations in check as much as they could. Due to his infected status, most of the other Atlanteans there leave Morden be, but some Order researchers notice that Morden seems to be communicating with them. Further examination is needed.
