Arcane Abyss Sea, the Atlantean Infection AU

my brain wanted to write this off as like “oh it’s another dumb au”, but as soon as i clicked on the video and saw the theta symbol every fiber of my body immediately shifted to “GOD THIS IS SO FUCKING COOL”

i cant explain the sheer spike in neuron activation that happened at that one instant

Sea mines are canon (NOT SPELLED CANNON). Atlanteans dont know what hit them!

welcome to the Abyss Sea, half of it is the most horrific and depressing shit, 1/4th is “so can we eat the Atlanteans” or “Revon got struck by lightning after touching grass and fucking died”. And the last 1/4th is just random other shit.

don’t forget the garlic bread

that gets lumped in with the “Revon gets struck by lightning and fucking dies” section, probably

Welcome to the abyss sea community,
We have:

  • 1/4: Concepts of how stuff work in the Au/The basis of the au (The statuses of every island, what happens to the characters we all know and love, any additional stuff that makes the au interesting, etc)

  • 2/4: The Ocs of the community yippee wooohooo yeaaaahh babyyyyyy (Atlanteans/Humans)

  • 3/4: The stories.

    • The characters we all know and love go through all 12 layers of hell
    • Our ocs suffering from: Depression, Justice, Insanity
    • Combine the two facts stated above
  • 4/4: The garlic bread incident, the skyroot incident, the “Can it breed?” incident, and many more shitposts/jokes (The only bright and sunny part of the community)

“yo guys”
“What?”
“theres another planet sharing the same orbit as ours, except 90% of it is shrouded in dark fog”
“wait what, tell nasa to send a satilite to it for a more detailed inspection”

…oops

who made an off-brand version of MY Stormroot.

im getting into a legal battle

Ehe…

Sweating profusely because of typo

hear me out(and this is only in beta so)
attacksize/intensity build berserkers at the medium(not high not bottom) of cirrus island, we only give them iron armor and boxing fs, easy win the atlanteans aint winnin

an idea provided by @ruelben

yk how we keep saying oh yeah if a curse user gets scratched they violently explode because of the magic stuff

butttt we never thought about to opposite, what if an atlantean got a curse? I mean it’s an interesting topic to write on tbh (which I’m probably going to write yay more trauma for elius :3)

uh oh this debate again

from my experience im gonna stay FARRRR away from hypothetical atlanteans with curses for now :sob:

Well, since the infection appears to evolve fairly quickly considering some of the stuff I’ve seen around, you could make it so that at the start, the curse would simply reject and overpower the infection, so it would shoot out of the body and that’s about it.
At one point, a parasite could evolve to coexist with a curse inside a body, though the way this would happen, and how it would be able to coexist with the curse, I haven’t thought about.
Hell, you could say it started because of experiments by the order, and they ended up accidentally creating an infected curse user.

why boxing and iron armor?
i was expecting canon fist and iron leg

I’d actually assume they’d be incompatible considering how curses don’t really get along with magic.

@Mirage abyss sea dating sim how does it sound

dont.

Ear grating sounding idea

Its been ages since I wrote this, so I figured I might as well post it.

If this conflicts with something recently written let me know, but this is a continuation of what I wrote a while back about the 5 Island union, in the Bronze Sea north

MY TAKE ON MAYA, AND THE FORMATION OF THE EMERALD UNION

If you saw my post above its an extended version of that :D.
My first real long post like this so give feedback if you want to.
This is just my take on what happened, and what I think makes for a cool story.

[PRE-NOTES]
This is written in more explanation than story point of view I might write from a POV soon.
I say “The crew” and by that I mean the crew of a single Brig, The Emerald’s Wrath.
I might change the name but the name “The Northern Union” is the current one (give suggestions if you want).

Alright enough of my yapping here it is:

The news of the invasion spread fast. Maya’s crew was at the docks of Sailors lodge at the time of the invasion. Once the news had spread, the crew left on a single Brig, The Emerald Blade, heading for anywhere away from the horde.

To Maya there was one logical location; The Bronze Sea North, in particular, Goso jungle, and Darkpine island. These island were among some that Civilization was little to none. Goso Jungle was decided as the destination, due to shelter being provided naturally through trees, and the landscape offering a way to grow food, as well as fishing without being exposed to open ocean.

(I would explain the path they took here), but if you look at the MS paint image linked at the bottom, follow the green line. Passing Munera Garden, they pick up a lone survivor, Sir Galvin, who had been living off of peaches, and hiding under a shelter made within a hidden cave. The sailing route used took them many days, as they passed through the shards of Frostmill (im going to call them the Frost Isles).

The crew of the blade makes landfall at a set of 3 Islands. Mango Island, Elm Island, and Dawn Island. There they meet an Ex-Marine, Edward Kenton (I’m gonna let somebody else write their take on Kenton, but if added to this story, He’d be introduced there.) Food is collected, as well as supplies to fortify the final destination.

On the way to the destination of Goso Jungle, the crew is ambushed by an atlanetan Brig, the same size of the brig the crew had been on. The battle left a toll on The Emerald Blade, yet in the end, the survivors had only lost few, with both Maya and Galvin surviving.

The same could not be said for The Emerald Blade. The battle had taken a toll on the ship, and would have Goso Jungle as it’s final destination. With one failed landing, the Emerald Blade had crashed into the island, forming a sort of fortification.

While exploring their new home, the crew met Souvella, an ex Navy Member, and powerful fighter. Souvella had quickly shown her worth, by fortifying the island using ship scraps from the sunken atlantean vessel, and the Emerald Blade.

As time went on, the horde shifted, and the crew of The Emerald Blade became stronger. Every atleantean ship passing by the islands were sunk, and scraps were taken. Cannons and Seige weapons were used as a way to turn Goso Jungle into a fortress.

A form of government was formed within the group, consisting of a Maya a leader, and Sir Galvin as the head architect, and as Souvella as Generals. Goso Jungle, and the surrounding 4 islands were declared as The Emerald Isles. As time went on, many survivors joined The newfound Emerald Union, as a sign of hope. Any person who did not rely on anybody asides from themselves to survive, could join.

By the time SIlverhold fell, the Union had claimed the and fortified the 5 Islands, and formed a much more powerful force than before. There were no rations to be distributed, or water to handed out. Ever member could take down a fully mutated atlantean. Every atlantean raid was wiped out, with scraps collected to fortify and form a watchtowers and cannon holds made from shipwrecks armed with cannons, made as a way transport supplies from island to island.

By the time that the Union had been fully developed, the larger part of the Horde had moved to the Bronze sea South, or in one of the surrounding Mount Oythris seas. The atlanteans remaining in the north were primarily Lost Sailors, and lesser mutated atlanteans.

The archipelago that made up the Emerald Union way protected by the Frost Isles on one side, and the Jaws on the others. This lead way for walls to be built (shown by brown lines) from sunken ships, similar to the stations and watches built within.

The Emerald Isles was a refuge for skilled fighters, gatherers, and hunters. As difficult as it was to live in, it led way for groups for

[OTHER NOTES:]
The events of this takes place over a VERY long amount of time, (I tried to add times like when Silverhold collapses).
Many die and are infected, but I didn’t want to write about how a bunch of sailors were infected.
I haven’t had much free time to write this, so if there are mistakes or things that don’t make sense that’s probably the reason.

I wrote this a while back and haven’t had the chance to review it with other things in the story, but figured ill post it as is right now!
If you read it all thank you :D.

(sorry for the flood its just been like a month since I wrote this and didn’t think of another topic.)
