Permafrost Island, The Delta, Later that day
~Arianna’s POV~
“Cass’ is right this way,” says Pollux.
We follow him onto the ship. On a nearby iceberg, a bandit camp burns. We walk to the captain’s quarters, where our captain and friend waits for us.
“He’s right inside,” says Pollux.
“Thanks Pollux,” says Castor. The twin brothers nod nod at each other before we walk inside.
I let my eyes adjust to the candlelight as I look around before my eyes land on the figure in front of us.
“Cassius,” Avery, my husband, says. “We’re back.”
The man standing at the back window turns around to face us, his brown eyes scanning and assessing our condition. A small smile forms on his face when he’s done and he says one sentence.
“Took you guys long enough.”
