That’s my first time hearing that “all liquid magics will have access to all liquid mutations”

vetex seems to be going pretty broad with what gets what in order to stop SOME PEOPLE from complaining about the restrictions of a feature that doesn’t exist yet
As the honorary plasma magic glazer: plasma is being under appreciated. Flare, Sun, Blaze, and scorch can all go into plasma. I get that scorch is more flame than plasma, but it’s still the name of plasmas DoT it just gotta go through with it.
And fire has no need for electron, it’s description fits better with lighting, ash, and plasma.
Speaking of ash, I feel it to could get flare as a mutation.
And acid might get Oil because it’s another chemical puddle, might not be DoT, but it could be a magic with a very weak DoT yet strong reactions that also spread through puddles.
I feel like we’re already being too worried about being locked out of an ancient or lost magic, considering that we can already change our magic.
If there’s a mutation you want, swap to the magic that can get it and simply find the item for it.
by level 300 our ships will be able to tank insanity 3 with ease; it’s already pretty chill getting over there, imagine if we actually had fast and durable ships.
Tbh, I kinda want the magics to have their own semi-unique branches, makes each one feel kinda special.
Acid got oil
Glass got slash and shatter
Plasma got some love
Shadow got lunar
And Magma got oil
I didn’t delete Electron from fire just because its still heated air, and fire is original 7 magic, and in my opinnion, those kinda get magic of their own lesser mutations
It’s more what I hope will happen, and only makes sense
I really, really hope Vetex won’t have 8 billion fankids with lightning and fire and leave sand, acid and glass dry
Sand is done and dusted, all alone with no mutations, to combat this, we’ll use the secret Vetex technique…
Sand-Lighting magic
Overall, from what lost/ancients we know, the original 7 is divided like this:
Fire and Light are tied at 9 mutations;
Lightning has 7, and it’s cheating with its silly stunts like, Poison-Lightning;
Wind is surprisingly next with 6 mutations;
As the opposite of Fire and Light, Water and Shadow are bound at 5 mutations;
And earth takes the least at 4 mutations.
you can still see some of the unbalance in this list, the mutation of pure earth is left with no mutations; acid and poison are clinging for scraps like shadow and water; while magmas vast mutations are butchered by being from earth.
Only element that’s part earth and has decent mutation spread is explosion, and that feels more from explosion not being tied to solid matter.
We just hope vetex can cook for more “obscure” elements like Sand, Poison, and Acid. Something like “Dust”, “Disease”, or “Erosion” could be given to them and help out their related elements.
Or he could just revert to scrolls and make them universal to all lost magics, meaning no monopoly will be made on specific magics and the player won’t depend on choices they made on the start of game to force a path on them
But alas, to no avail
Ok sure you could get any magic from any scroll, but first you’d have to get that scroll, and that would arguably be much rarer than just getting a Hecate shard from anyone, rather than someone who got that specific scroll. And god forbid you wanted a lost magic that happened to be meta, good luck getting one through trading or market then.
Hecate essence → Hecate shard is objectively the best option for qol for players involved in any part of the game(market, pve, pvp etc.)
