Arcane Odyssey v1.13 Balancing Changes WIP

Oh yeah! I forgot mage hybridgs can use aura. Time to tick another one off the list~

i concede on this bit, mage needs a bit more mobility
but this pretty fine and good everywhere else

it would be rad to see a blast that boosts you away from the target

N o.

That would be neat.

Mage rn feels bland (mostly cuz lost spells arent out)
Too much effort for too little reward. Why use blast when you can practice using musket (It does more damage and is more consisstant) (Isnt getting nerfed)

Rocket jumping! Some sort of thrust as a lost spell you get later would be nice.

Making it mage exclusive feels much, though.

maybe not even mage exclusive, just a high magic requirement

something around 120 magic perhaps

Doesnt solve the core issue of mage though. The fact that its not unique, combined with the fact that you have to put in ALOT of effort AND the fact that you are useless in water if you have magic that dissolves in it puts you at a killzone for bounty hunters

i would probably suggest making leap count as an air movement for hybrids then

i can literally just fly as a warlock with 3 air movements

also 120 is a bit low, perhaps somewhere like 200 magic instead

Link?

Man even with that “buff”, mage would still get ganked due to the funny FS buff

though we cant go too far with the mobility options, or snare would become redundant

why would you need a defensive spell when you can reliably stay away from the enemy

At the same time, snare is extrmely risky to pull off
If it misses, you get comboed (Even with snare buff) with their own grab.

Mage’s about zoning. It should have mobility options.

perhaps that is more of an issue with grabs in the first place, than snare being bad

perhaps snare lets you knock the enemy torwards the cursor, instead of in a fixed direction
and snare knockback scales with how long you charge it (shenanigans inbound)

Change snare for the thrusting spell.

Wait that sounds like an awful idea actually then hybrids could get it too

Hybrids have a thrusting spell with knocking blitz and the rapier, so it would make 0 difference

But those are for weapons, not fighting styles. This would be a good aggressive bumper for warlocks.

Doesnt fighting styles have rushdown?

yeah, but i imagine it throwing you far more forcefully?

or they could simply go the opposite direction, and focus on making it harder to reach mages in the first place

i love the idea of magic having traps
