then thats like blinded synergy for light
Itâs different because the temperature is affected by other factors too
im getting more confused lmao
If you can get hot and take more damage from fire magic, then why canât you get cold and take more damage from ice magic.
At least I think thatâs the point
no dot
thats ao balancing logic
Why is a dot required
ask the balancing team
Are they on the forum?
yea cause thats just light and it was ass
thats also not someone on the balancing team
at this point i wouldnt even try ![]()
what ive collected is that its a balancing decision so that dot magics can have more damage upkeep since their impact dmg on average is lower than that of magics without a dot
That doesnât mean that only DoT magics can have self synergies
but its the general idea
light and crystal are the only outliers i think
Ye that was more or less the point, like frostbite exists from continued exposure to a cold enviroment which Iâd say physically damages u (losing a nose for example).
And freezing increases the damage of like snow and snow is a cold-based magic meaning this logic exists in AO but for some reason doesnât exist for ice.
The idea that Ice should have a self-synergy doesnât really make any sense.
DoTs have a self-synergy because after the initial hit that applies the DoT youâre just stuck dealing bad damage since the DoT isnât stackable.
Light and Crystal have an accumulating self-synergy, thatâs a different story completely.
Ice having a self-synergy would be no different from just buffing its damage.
i think this just because the status you get from cold temperatures is the same as iceâs freezing, all they have to do is make a new status like chilled and itâd work
basically what ive been saying fr
