Arcane Odyssey v1.13 Balancing Changes WIP

but its the general idea
light and crystal are the only outliers i think

Ye that was more or less the point, like frostbite exists from continued exposure to a cold enviroment which I’d say physically damages u (losing a nose for example).

And freezing increases the damage of like snow and snow is a cold-based magic meaning this logic exists in AO but for some reason doesn’t exist for ice.

The idea that Ice should have a self-synergy doesn’t really make any sense.

DoTs have a self-synergy because after the initial hit that applies the DoT you’re just stuck dealing bad damage since the DoT isn’t stackable.

Light and Crystal have an accumulating self-synergy, that’s a different story completely.

Ice having a self-synergy would be no different from just buffing its damage.

i think this just because the status you get from cold temperatures is the same as ice’s freezing, all they have to do is make a new status like chilled and it’d work

basically what ive been saying fr

No, because it wouldn’t affect combos that go straight to frozen and not freezing, but it would buff the damage of ice when used solo

the current damage buff also does that without the extra first hit to proc

Does it affect the damage of ice in a frozen combo or any combo that clears freezing?

no since youre using ice to apply status and not to shatter

unless you mean that first hit which would do more damage than pre 1.12

Is the damage of ice on a soaking target or ice followed by a wind or snow spell affected by the damage buff

well yeah since its base damage was changed

then it’s different

by like 20 damage its different yes

my point is that a self synergy is not the same thing as a base damage buff, but I’m not even saying that it should be a self synergy with freezing, I think it should depend on temperature

But the damage buff is always better?

why

tats even more random since nothing is affected by temperature outright

I think all the hot and cold magics should be affected by temperature outright, and intensity should change their ability to affect the target’s temperature

why tho, they already have freezing and sweat synergies
