Are explosion mages deaf?

Considering how modern gunshots can deafen you, do the explosions of explosion magic deafen its victims and users?
I’d like to say yes due to how comical that would be, but since magic is magic… it might not always follow the laws of physics… and magic.

  • Yes, it would be funny.
  • Yes, it would be sad.
  • No, it would be awful.
  • No, it would be funny.

Note 1: Could this logic also apply to light mages with blindness?

i mean, magic bullshit probably wouldnt protect from sound stuff so im inclined to say yes

EXPLOSION MAGIC: EARPLUGS!

How does magic destruction work again..?

Sound magic mages are in shambles

“erm, actually they use trace magic to make magic earplugs whenever they use an attack”

Sorry what were you saying? I cant hear you

(Explosion magic messes up with my speakers)

I memorised their sound patterns, is it bad?

i’m definitely blind from using it thats for sure, i lose track of npcs so easily in the smog

the magic isn’t really explosion, just magic that looks like an explosion

Glass mages don’t have ears anymore

the caster is probably resistive somehow, but any victims could definitely be deafened

Sound magic is either going to be like music, or like glass magic²

i hope it’s just a really bass boosted roblox explosion sound

Explosion mages getting shell shock from their own explosions:

They can probably control the intent of the magic and make it not loud, but it could deafen people if the user intended it to.

We Glass users exist you know

when exploding something they crouch and cover their ears and reinforce

100%, I’m an explosion mage (second magic) and I’m already partially deaf in my right ear. Soon enough, I’ll lose my hearing entirely.

On a more serious note, I assume that, unless intended, a user’s magic would not have any adverse effects upon them. For the victim however, it’s completely possible that they’d have some form of hearing loss.
