We know that the Order of Aesir is an organization built around the advancement of magic at all costs. Considering how magic has been a tool for corruption that has fostered consequences of unimaginable scale, you’d think there might be normies sick of the magic bull crap that keeps splitting the world apart. They might take extreme measures of eliminating magic altogether and have a specific hatred for mages, maybe even going so far as to calling for the elimination of them. Some might be more reasonable and applaud the Peacekeeper’s efforts to at least try and get rid of the Sea Curses. I haven’t heard of any such organization existing, so I didn’t know if it was due to my own lack of knowledge, because one doesn’t exist, or it simply hasn’t been thought of much, if at all.
I guess the reason this came to mind was because I’ve been playing Dragon Age: Inquisition, which is a game that takes place during a war between mages and templars (magic nullifying knights).
(IT FUCKING DOESNT EXIST AT ALL THERES LEGIT NO POINT IF YOUR ENTIRE LIFE ENERGY IS LITERALLY MAINTAINED BY THE TINY PARTICLES OF MAGIC INSIDE OF YOU. )
Let me clarify: getting rid of the ability to use magic and/or magic-users. You’re either born with your first mind opened or you’re not. Whether it’s possible to prevent this from happening is unknown to me, but I don’t think it’d be too far fetched for people in-universe to try and find that out.
Either preventing minds from opening before birth or being able to “close” the minds of people with open ones as soon as someone displays magical affinity.
Ok so like back in the AA trello there was an idea for a pirate crew called the Scourge, of course it did not make to the game but in the Arcane Adventures Webtoon the Scourge is present as a faction that wants to get rid of curse users and magic users iirc but that’s the only thing I’ve ever seen about an ‘‘anti magic’’ faction
good point, why dont we ever see one? (magic is literally a driving life force of this world im pretty sure, so this group would be more a doomsday cult)
I mean the game is in Early Access and we’re in the first sea of the game so maybe in later seas we’ll see them ? The Scourge was presented in like the fourth sea in the webtoon so
When AO takes place, the peacekeeper hasn’t started hunting curses yet, so magic is the only practical way to keep curse users in check. Even the weakness to seawater for curses might not be canon anymore
