i wouldve rated it a 5 a while ago but the feature creep and infuriatingly poor performance have all but ruined the game for me

i still love it and it has a lot of potential but right now its just in a very bad state

the performance of this game just makes it not likeable along with the fact that the overall graphics and “feel” of the game just feel like shit to me at least

but tbf i have 1.6k hours

for what it is, i shouldnt have to empty my life savings to buy a computer that can handle the game

it can be beautiful at times but i cant experience that at all because i have to set my graphics to 2 just to get 30 fps on a good day

the only thing i can really enjoy anymore is the adrenaline from combat and i can easily get that same feeling from other games that i can run without turning my laptop into the twoleggedabomination special

I am not satisfied.

The feature-creep, lack of interconnected systems, and balancing/performance issues is making the experience playing the game a living hell, there’s no replayability that isn’t just repeating the same thing - which is not replayabiltiy, it’s just called redoing content, as replayability is specifically created so the player has a somewhat changed experience when attempting the same *“adventure”, as per the definition; “Replay value (or, colloquially, replayability) is the potential of a video game or other media products for continued play value after its first completion.”

If we take dragons, they don’t have anything new after you initially defeat them - I am counting defeating all types once in this situation - it’d be the exact same fight except you wouldn’t be getting the Dragonblood ritual rewards, only the same pool of items.

The game is fundamentally flawed in my opinion, if it has to surpass these issues, it’ll need a full-blown rework with developers who have actually developed and learned sensibly, for Vetex - despite having more experience than even I[1] - is heavily outdated when it comes to optimizations, general usage of API and design patterns[2]

But I won’t say it didn’t turn out well, for the game did genuinely get a playerbase that adore it down to its very roots, I merely stated my personal issues with the game, hence why I picked 2.

i enjoy the game and im definitely satisfied with its current state, however the things preventing me from voting it a 5 are mostly the dev and moderation teams

Have played AO since its first public days (also AA and WOM to a way lesser degree) but man i keep forgetting that roblox games never end on a good note. 600 hours well spent before Full release and 60 hours after it wasted

Worst part is that most of the problems are self-afflicted too, the foot is swiss cheese already with how much they have shot it. Just do any market research or atleast a survey man

Thinking about playing arcane odyssey has been more fun than actually playing the game, its tf2 all over again

If this was the finished product? Absolutely not, nope.
I am satisfied with AO as a project in development.

There are many issues, yes, but it isn’t like its going to be that way forever.

remove the fucking dragons update then I’ll be satisfied

why? the dragons are one of the best updates AO has gotten since release.
hell, if any update needs to be reverted it’d probably be the AI optimization update.

arcaneodyssey isnt fun to me because of the combat and i can say this with 3.8k playerkills

it so desperately needs a rework

im not satisfied but i wont rate it 2/5 or anything, probably 3~3.5 or maybe even 4 (its definitely a 4~4.5 when compared to other roblox games btw, im saying of games in general ive played)

it isnt a bad game, not at all, it is somewhat of a good game, definitely not perfect, but any lower than 3/5, all things considered, imo

describing arcane odyssey vs actually fucking playing it

The game is in full release, this is the intended full product, this is how its going to be forever, at least until the eventual level cap raise to 10,000 and abandonment.

Mind elaborating? AI was utilized as a tool to quickly replace code with significantly more optimal versions, Ript was thrown out mid-development hence it was heavily unfinished and therefore bugged.

AI doesn’t ever mean automatically bad.

To addon to my personal opinion; The game is overly praised due to the fact no one has seen anything better, they don’t recognize that it could evolve into something that would be a genuine gem within the Roblox community for all devices.

In title alone, the game isn’t even half finished, much less ‘complete’.

Correct but also you’re wrong on several points.
Ript was not demoted half way through, he was demoted on the day the update was intended to launch because he kept adding untested shit to the game and broke the entire update and had repeatedly lied to the playerbase about the performance increases.

worst one because it was the one that was SO badly optimized that it warranted a whole update “that still didn’t do anything” pre-dragons the game ran smoothly on max graphics for me but after dragons update, game is unplayable, fuck dragons upate

exact opposite situation for me.
the game was laggy as hell and then the dragon update dropped and it ran really nicely.
then the ‘optimization’ update came out and it ran slightly worse.

I don’t understand what this means, they have literally released the full release update, it’s not in alpha, beta or anything, it’s fully out.

I did overreact or however you say it, but he was still thrown out whilst fixing it.

The performance increases are true, he merely split the update up into three segments, one for basis optimizations to further build on in the 2nd update, and then the third would be StreamingEnabled enabling & optimizations, we only got the first part, hence the lack of said performance increase promises.

not in the slightest, this game is caried by uniqueness in character expression AND EVEN THAT is tramped upon through decisions made by people who rarely play the game in a normal setting

speaking of decisions, every update feels like three steps backwards and a toe forwards, everything is getting progressively worse and everybodys just gotta get used to it

like im not doomposting, im dead serious in how this game genuinely can #### people and its just “oh well thats how the games played”. why people stay is the promise that by investing time into the game it will get better but me personally i havent played for a month or so just because of personal things ALONGSIDE ao just being the experience nobody wants to even participate in; so even if i want it to get better i dont see it yet
