Pretend Cybertruck is in C tier, idk why it wouldn’t insert the image into the tierlist
Now, why make a tier list? Recently got back into Armored Patrol, have been playing it for years at this point, and I just felt bored so I’m making a tier-list for it. Pretty simple honestly. I couldn’t really decide what’d be best for combat since that just doesn’t make sense in a game like Armored Patrol. Some vehicles just aren’t meant for combat and have other functions. Additionally the ones that are for combat can still get bodied by other ones just due to them being a pretty natural counter. The BTR APC can absolutely butcher both helicopters without them standing a chance but it does shit against the Patton.
So if pretty much everything has a hard counter and this list isn’t about PvP, what is it about? Glad you asked that question else I wouldn’t have explained. So, generally, I’m ranking this on what their purpose is and how well they do this purpose. The Humvee has a niche role as a flanker and pretty useful as a supplier but flanking wise it pretty much gets beat by 70% of the vehicles and supply wise it’s bested by pretty much everything else that’s a “supplier”. On the other hand the M480 (the garbage tank) has an undeniable presence on the battlefield and will act as an unstoppable force pushing against enemies positions with it’s tough armor and powerful gun. So, let me explain why I ranked them as I did.
Warning: I have limited, if not no, experience with a good portion of these vehicles due to being a bad heli pilot and a Vec-1 APC simp. Pretty sure some of these opinions will be wrong to the vast amount of people who’ve played AP longer than me or main these vehicles.
tldr; I’m bored so I made a tierlist on a game maybe 2 of the people on this site play.
F:
- Jeep - Honestly, need I explain? Has no offense, isn’t that fast, and is practically made out of paper. It’s only pro is how small it is (and that it comes with a huge gun but I’m only counting the vehicle itself) and even so that just means when someone does hit it you’re completely screwed.
D:
- Humvee - As I explained earlier, it has a very niche role as a flanker. It’s gun is thee best for taking out people but the time to kill a person in almost any vehicle isn’t that high so this turns .3 seconds into .2, wow. It can act as a supplier but it is generally beaten by everything else that does this role.
- Missile Truck - This might be a bit biased since I personally loath this thing. It’s just not good. It fills a niche roll in an offensive position where you support your teammates from behind with hellfire but it’s missiles aren’t that good and it’s extremely vulnerable both when driving and when shooting. A single shot from any tank will cripple this thing, most it’ll take is 5~ shots from a tank.
C:
- Guardian ASV - Due to this being a hidden/secret vehicle, I had no idea it was even a thing. I constantly seen people using it and was like “what the hell is that”. It has a unique function of just being able to spam explosives, 12 rounds, before having to reload. Only these don’t do that much, especially to heavy vehicles. It’s role is to take on lighter vehicles and to that degree it does okay in, it also works well as an anti-infantry vehicle but most vehicles can deal with infantry no problem.
- Scorpion - It has a similar role to the Guardian ASV in my opinion in being a fast, light, hitter. Only the Scorpion is, I believe, the fastest tank. This is pretty useful since it can move around quicker than most and it’s a god damn tank. It’s main drawback is that it’ll pretty much lose any fight with any other tank, a good driver can change that but I mean a good Jeep driver can take out a bad Heli pilot so it’s not like it can’t win fights. Just that the fights it does get into with other tanks it’s more likely to lose.
- BTR APC - It will completely shred helicopters like no tomorrow, so if the enemy is a fan of using helicopters, this thing rocks. It doesn’t have a direct fire option though so any armored opponent that’s above a Cybertruck is going to take quite a number of shots to take down. It’s speed and armor are pretty on par with other APCs, though it has the most wheels of any APC so slightly harder to disable it.
- V150 AFV - It’s a rank one APC, don’t feel like I should say more. It’s basically a worse version of the Vec-1 APC. Usually gets bodied by tanks, does well with helis, people on the ground are never an issue. Only use this if you’re starting off, never use this if you’re rank 2.
- Cybertruck - Honestly, pretty interesting vehicle, though not that interesting. It can bring six crates to a location so that’s a big plus, it’s also thee fastest land vehicle, which is another plus. Sadly that’s where it’s pluses and. Relatively frail, if the crates explode from gunfire then you’re screwed since half your truck is now gone, and it’s gun, while unique, isn’t all that great at taking out anything other than Humvees.
- Sherman - Pretty much a standard tank. Hits hard, takes a lot of hits, and is slow. What a tank should be. But it has the drawbacks of a tank, then some, but this is one of those vehicles where my experience is extremely limited in using so I don’t got much to say, it’s just a tank to me.
- Patton - An actual standard tank and the most generic one I can think of. The Sherman will hit harder and tank harder but is slower, so it’s a bit of an exaggerated medium tank, but the Patton is what I think of when I think of “medium tank”. It’s job on the field is just to support other tanks, get a few Pattons and you got yourself a strong chain, but by itself it isn’t all that. Good support. Still a tank though, strong presence but takes a while to get there.
- M109 - AKA the long range tank, because it’s whole thing is that it’s a long range tank. I remember when this thing used to be absolutely terrifying but now I don’t see it that much of a threat. Good at hitting still targets from a great distance but if it’s moving then it starts struggling. Great supportive fire, can shoot from behind cover, but on it’s own or when an enemy is up close it’s practically a sitting duck.
- Cargo Truck - The name of the game is in the title, cargo, it also does well in transport but it’s beaten by other things. It can deal with infantry well so long as no one has a mind and uses an RPG, even then it can survive. Cargo is only useful if you have someone to use it, if that’s you then this truck might as well be an A-tier if you can use cargo well. It’s a very team focused vehicle though usually isn’t all too great unless you have, well, a team going on. Generally speaking the Chinook also just outclasses it with speed, transport potential, and firepower.
B:
- Chinook - Sky tank, don’t know what else to say. It’s not nearly as tough as a tank but when compared to it’s other aerial counter part it pretty much is. It does a great job as a tank killer actually. Additionally it works well as a supplier and also just as great for transport. It’s an ideal military helicopter. While it does do good in all the fields and on paper it seems like a huge threat but in reality it’s just not there. While being an “sky tank” it is still pretty frail and AA guns will shred it. It’s weapons won’t do a great job at dealing damage but it can harass very much. Therefore it’s best for supply and transport, only infantry isn’t worth anything and supplies are only useful if you have someone to use the supplies. With teamwork this thing is an absolute beast but I have yet to see it be used to it’s fullest, I think it’s worthy of A-tier if someone could make all it’s pros even better via teamwork but I have yet to see it.
- Huey Helicopter - Small, fast, hits hard, useful for air domination. It is basically the offensive counterpart to Chinook, go figure, and can absolutely harass tanks without much they can do. But it does have it’s flaws. Like the jeep, it’s practically made out of paper. 50 cal and AA gunfire will take it out in a few seconds so if your enemies has anti-air they’re going to destroy you, even if they don’t a person with an RPG is a risk to you by themselves. This is borderline C-tier but it’s job, aerial control. It can transport troops, act as a supplier, but it mostly deals with doing damage from the skies.
- Nashorn - The tank sniper, this thing is great as a long range support. This thing will damage any vehicle there is from a distance that out reaches them. Best used in a supporting role but it’s solo ventures aren’t too bad either. It’s main drawback is the angle you can shoot the cannon from, it has the most restrictions in the game. Additionally it’s pretty soft for a tank so it’s pretty easy to take out. Despite being meant for long range this thins can do fairly well in close combat with other tanks, though helicopters are it’s biggest threat by far.
- M480 Garbage - Unlike it’s name, it’s not literal trash. It hits hard and can tank a lot of hits. It’s basically an exaggerated heavy tank and because of that it would be A. Sadly though, it has some issues, for one it’s super easy to counter in fights due to it’s slow speed and limited cannon movement. Additionally it’s cannon can be blown off relatively easily, which just turns this thing into a walking bunker. What makes this thing a B-tier is that you need to address this. It’s coming somewhere and can do some damage. Helis can be ignored for a bit, Jeeps you shouldn’t even really bat an eye too if you’re a tank. Few shots and it’s down. But this thing commands your attention and is useful for breaking holes in formations.
- T-34 - The prime example of what a medium tank should be. I know earlier I went on about how the Patton is the most standard and generic one, well the T-34 is the prime example of what they should be. Versatile yet useful for it’s intended purpose. It’s a tank that can push hard and attack fast while being, you know, a tank. It has no real weaknesses aside from general tank stuff, like helicopters. Defense, assault, support, it can do it all and do it well without any real weakness.
A:
- Leopard and Tiger - Both of these tanks do the same thing and do it well, they’re heavy tanks that’ll march unstoppably to where they are going. They play a little differently but generally are the same. Get fucked by helictopers, fuck up everything else. These are bad boys that need to be addressed when presented, like the Garbage, but unlike the garbage their only real flaw is general tank stuff. Defensively, offensively, as support, these bad boys wreck it.
- Vec-1 APC - The best vehicle in my opinion due to it’s sheer versatility. Tanks? It can fight it, might lose, but it can fight them. Helicopters? It shreds them slightly less so than the BTR APC. It’s fast enough to make long range opponents less accurate and can support a good number of players, so you can wreck havoc with friends or solo. If you have a problem then nine times out of ten this is your solution. 100% bias here and idc
So yeah that’s my list. Feel free to disagree, or just not even respond, not sure who would. Might make other tier lists for Armored Patrol in the future, like weapons/gadgets n shit. Not sure, this took a while and I’m sure this isn’t even accurate, but it’s just my opinion from a guy who’s played it for a long time but rarely played it seriously. Enjoy the rest of your day.
