If most other maces in the game are made out of steel or something, and they can easily withstand the hits… How the fuck does Atlantean mace do the same thing? It’s head is made out of a sea urchin and like… Its NOT hard enough to withstand heavy hits, and considering Atlantean Mace is a bludgeon, its supposed to strike with as much force as you can to deal damage more effectively.
So how does it even work? I’m pretty sure after one heavy hit from that Atlantean mace would just tear the urchin apart immediately. Atlanteans if smart enough (and they are smart in lore!) would simply make the head out of bones and it would work just fine! I mean, the urchin definitely will make it painful to be hit with, but considering its structure it would just break after one hit and deal much less damage than if you would do it with a regular medieval mace.
oh wait I just realized some sea urchin spines can be much more durable than steel… ![]()
Either im biased again or this topic is solved already
Edit: ok I think im biased feel free to say your opinion about this I am confused completely now
I mean, dark sea is big ass place full of magic energy that mutate livings. So maybe that urchin is some rare kind of urchin that doesnt break easily?
Unlike these easy breaking structure urchins you mentioned, the urchin on the mace is pretty small. That means they mutated diffrent.
Universal solution: magic energy
So i thought it out and took an information source about it all.
What can I say now?
Atlantean Mace is… Actually an accurate weapon! Yes, it has the problems with it being basically a one-use because the urchin will simply break after the first hit, but this is what we need!
When smashed, the spines will inject into the target’s body, which will kinda deal A LOT of damage already. Let’s also not forget that most urchins are poisonous.
And the best part, getting hit with this thing will almost guarantee you a blood infection which without any help will be a certain death.
This way, getting hit with an Atlantean Mace realistically would send you to the god, not only it will deal MONSTROUS damage to your body and possibly internal organs, but it will most likely guarantee your death right after it. So like…
Main question. Is this weapon realistical?
Yes.
though you will need a shit ton of urchins to replace the broken ones
Ah, so it would operate similarly to a macuahuitl? That is interesting
And I deadass don’t understand what doctor Frankenstein experiment happened to that fish to have a whole-ass femur bone (the closest one by shape) just suddenly going across it.
Now that I look at it, it seems awfully short for a swordfish, which means it was extremely short and stubby when it was alive.
Though it still makes sense as a weapon, because that thing would rot and get moldy so bad, it’d become a biohazard.
this one is actually even worse ![]()
It’s not fucking steel rapier its a rotten swordfish
Like fr it’ll probably just break the moment you thrust with it
It would do one job well though, make your target suffer with blood infections right after since its rotten fish and that’s it
um um
magic ![]()
shaddap we do not talk about magic
Magic won’t make this thing tankier unless we take curses into this but I doubt anyone sane would waste their time on buffing Atlantean’s ass weapons
yes it does thats why atlanteans get stronger the further in the dark sea they go
more magic pollution/mutation = stronker
how does it make dead fish stronger though??? Its too rotten to have any effect on it, same goes with any other Atlantean weapon in general
maybe it made it stronger before it died, giving it titanium strength bones (and fucking it up apparently cause the mf has a bone for his crossguard)
also they need high weapon req, maybe warriors are just goated and can use anything as a weapon (like zoro with a butterknife or some shit)
trace magic energy (weapon aura) shenanigans
