#freemaduro ship sailout in Sameria tomorrow
Putting aside the entry cost and time sink that fleets are, Drachma is worthless now. This ‘big sign’ is only welcoming people to make fleet drops cheaper and cheaper, killing off its potential profits to begin with.
Of course, it would further be entrenched if fleets were to be removed, but I didn’t make any mention of that—explaining the situation to someone is not agreeing with the original topic.
Besides that, the wealth of the marketplace has already been capitalised upon by the early birds, taking away the riches of some to further those of another. Not only have fleets separated the people with valuable items from those with none, but those that did might have regressed in inventory value.
And I’m pretty sure that fleets are already being nerfed as I edit this post, so hopes aren’t so bright.
The game really just returned to its original state of “You either have sunkens or you don’t.” Except this time boss drops are included in the statement, with sunkens being for the ultra-wealthy and barely tradeable.
Another weirdo, who thinks that removing something is better than taking some time and effort to make it good.
Never really understood why anyone would sell rare items for a bunch of drachma as I feel there aren’t that many drachma sinks that you ever need a large amount.
The only time I ever felt that I really needed drachma was when I had to get a Brig for a first time.
Only drachma sink that I can think of are fleets which then in turn make you so rich that you don’t need them anyway.
That was exactly how the game was during WoM and all the way up until the auctionhouse’s release. It’ll be fine. Mystic scrolls aren’t gatekept anymore, neither are dark sea reagents. People will go back to trading items for items now just like they used to and it really won’t make much of a difference.
Drachma had artificial value because of the auctionhouse. Anything that you would reasonably need to spend drachma on from an npc or otherwise was cheap enough that it didn’t matter. Drachma was only ever really grinded for to buy items from other players. Inflation genuinely doesn’t matter here because the drachma never had any real value to begin with.
just remove fleets and wipe all drachma, rename it to something different and execute the paramount bankers
you might aswell be quiet, fleets are money printers, i literally explained the fuck happens to a country that prints cash
This is why I think the sailing time between layers should be reduced by a ton but unfortunately we got the opposite and there’s now giant walls that take 10 minutes to sail around instead
just go full west nimbus
Items
okay a better comparison is if you could both use section leaders and commandos as units in PvP to represent the rare bullshit you can get easily from fleets WHILE being able to mainline marines from sheer ticket inflation to compare it to drachma inflation
I’ve seen you in the cold front server lmao
I sure am glad I don’t live in one of those shitholes, barter system ftw
rip newbies though : (
and i’m over here trying to argue that it wouldnt matter since the enemy would also get sheer ticket inflation (in this metaphor)?
yeah okay i get why its bad for the economy now
wait are you Your Local Shock Trooper?
do people not understand what a currency is anymore ?
nah I’m 『Stormgirl』
okay but then maps may be balanced around the idea of you having an unholy amount of tickets (like how costs could be balanced around unholy amounts of drachma) leading to new or inexperienced players who have low starting tickets or aren’t too good at managing large armies getting dumpstered while vets reap the benefits
Okay okay I get it
On an unrelated note, i got to steel ice skirmish with like 800 starting tix because I liked unlocking units more than upgrading my tix limit lol
I got to steel ice skirmish with like 20% of the tech tree unlocked because I was broke ![]()
Or to do other, more interesting runs, e.g. Dark Sea or bosses.
