What is this 2007-ass looking artstyle?
Gen 13
gen 1 simple
Gen 7 just because I’ve never played gen 5
same, the ultra games slapped
I had both a salamence and a metagross on my main team
gen 4 5 and 7 sequels (platinum, BW2, USUM) were by far the best pokemon games since they had almost no problems. Gen 4 and 5 were pretty much perfect and the only problem with gen 7 was the fact that half the game was a visual novel. My personal favorite is gen 2 but it had that horrendous level curve so i wouldnt say its the best gen
gen 7 was peak NO CONTEST
best competitive gen, best games, best pokemon selection (theres literally ALL of them available), best soundtrack as well
B/W has excadrill, therefore B/W is the best generation
Only the realest know that both gen 5 games were peak
black/white black2/white2
that’s certainly stretching it quite a bit. Also we already disproved this with 9th gen (but tbh it wasn’t the most sound of theories to begin given that Charizard is nowhere near the concept of a Zodiac dragon, Quilava isn’t a rat, and Skeledirge isn’t even representative of anything on any Asian Zodiac).
Serperior is just snake, you can cherry pick whstever you want to but it far more resembles a extant species of snakes like Twig Snake and Vine Snake than a Titanaboa.
Sceptile is actually laughably bad. It’s a gecko, bro. It does not resemble a theropod dinosaur even remotely other than reptile + stands up
Also the water starters, with the exception of Blastoise for very obvious reasons, are quite the stretch in cases like Primarina, Swampert, and Feraligatr. I mean mans uses his CLAWS and JAWS, not really his fists. If he were Fighting type (as I thought he was as a kid) I would understand but he doesn’t actually resemble Brass Knuckles or fight like he uses them (just like Swampert and Primarina). Empoleon has a trident motif on its face but doesn’t really ever appear to weaponize it beyond the typical pokémon headbutting -type moves, which is a universal thing and is never utilized in a special move or noted in lore. Swampert is an even more egregious case of the same scenario because there is no way you’re telling me Swampert wields its tail like a Tessen, you trippin’
anyway, fourth gen was great for Soul Silver (my first game), i also love gen six for the music, lore, and visuals. i actually skipped gen 5 becuse i thought the locations and pokémon styles were ugly lmao, but i can appreciate the grounds it broke and pioneered for following generations
generation 43 was pretty good ngl but people argue that generation 89 was also peak since they introduced kla’nean NPCs because of the xeno inclusion movement though I personally don’t care.
To be honest I didn’t like how USUM story was worse but had more content compared to SM
wait USUM and SM had different stories?
I thought USUM was just, SM with more content
Nah they kinda ruined Lily’s arc or whatever you call it
when nebby evolve into sogaleo/lunala (Lily gonna need a bigger bag)
Lusamine was a good villain in SM but they went and changed her for no reason in USUM
Though which generations do you guys think are worse or the two, generation 8 or generation 9
Gen 8 is worse because at least gen 9 HAS a story, even if gen 9 is buggy as shit
generation 8 was actually alright in retrospect, but that was mainly because of all the content updates and DLCs it got
as of now gen 9 is the worst imo, also, somehow, gen 8 was better on the technical level upon release compared to gen 9
