Best Pokémon generation

Most lifeless plot in history
Game was far too easy for me I swept every mandatory trainer besides leon with a type advantage

I kind of can’t get behind this. The isle of armor had a decent plot with kubfu, and also introduced funny Galarian slowpokes but other than that it felt pretty simple and not too fun. Of course the returning Pokémon were a plus too.

This I can agree with, besides competitive play and the Pokédex there isn’t all too much to do.

out of all the replies you could’ve begun to split the topic from, you choose this one as the first one

you know how I would fix the plot?

we make the energy crisis a part of the story during our time in galar, so it adds a sense of urgency and helps us understand the chairmans goals better.

like the fact this dude was tryna awaken my boy tyrone for something that’s gonna happen in 1000 years seems so stupid ngl.

it if was something that was happening WHILE we were playing, and it felt like galar was in a state of emergency, that would help the story A LOT

yeah thats fair but pokemon has never really had a great storyline (gen 5 being the only exception) so i just let it slide since USUM had an insane amount of content and features.

if every storyline from pokemon was compared to being slapped on the face, being slapped by gen 5 would be like getting slapped with a cinder block that’s been lit on fire from the unmatched power of the sun.

The chairman should also show more worry about the energy crisis and wanting to research eternatus more, he kinda just went insane with no reasoning behind it at the end

Nah gen 7 had a good story, not as good as gen 5 sure but still pretty good

hot take but gen 64 was good too despite the awkward release time and weird graphical bugs

gen 7 had a good story but it was kinda ruined in the sequels. There are big plot holes with Ultra Space and the Ultra Recon Squad, Lillie just gets dropped out of the story, and Lusamine’s character development does not make any sense. I assume this happened to add necrozma as the boss which ill admit is much better than the previous game, but its not worth sacrificing the storyline for one boss fight.

Gen 7 was the best generation because we had Kukui and Hau

Heartgold was my first game, and I know it may not have been the best, but it’s forever my favorite.

actually, what if the forums tried re-writing the overarching plot for gen 8’s story?

we use victor/gloria as the protagonists, just for simplicity’s sake, the starter they pick doesn’t matter.

also I’m just gonna say it now but so far the drip for the gen 8 trainers is the best, this is peak pokemon trainer design right here.

Angry scottish girl

Anyway I think the biggest problems with gen 8’s story is that it’s just so empty most of the time and has really no evil team (the marnie stans do not count), and the villain really is just some guy who goes insane for no reason at the end of the game over a crisis that happens nearly a millennia from then, with some pretty odd character developments.

best trainer designs by a long shot

the fact that this even is a team or was even considered a good idea disappoints me

Also eternatus’s reveal was so fucking anticlimactic, it would’ve been so much cooler if he emerged from his capsule thing after fighting rose instead of just being there at the top for no damn reason

bro eternatus reveal was so zzz I did not care for ANYTHING that happened

we didn’t even get to see it like burst out of it’s chamber or anything

honestly chairman rose has to be like the absolute dumbest pokemon villain so far, no contest.

Thass what I’m saying bro we shoulda seen him start emerging

okay but on some more positive notes, hop felt like a surprisingly decent rival.

he wasn’t like hau in that he was some dumb punching bag nice guy, but he kinda had a growth arc and he became a more serious trainer, eventually becoming a rookie pokemon professor under sonia and magnolia.
