"Assassin Syndicate is infamous for its flawless work all across the War Seas. An underhanded weapon in conflicts — a root of paranoia for most, if not all, renown and famous idols. Treacherous and perilous; full of mysterious masterminds and insolent murderers alike. Most figures within the Syndicate grew numb to empathy — a natural occurrence as you get well acquainted with Death.
But do you really lose all remorse and emotion as an assassin? Do you never hesitate to shove a knife deeper into someone’s spine? Being confronted by their own prey must burden assassins, no? Surely most of them experienced that type of situation at least once in their career. Doesn’t that make the Syndicate members question their work?
Even if uncommon, cases where victims put a price on their own head still occur. Most of the time, this is done by overconfident fighters who want to test the limits of their strength. As for the grimmer rest, it is intended to be a method of suicide with clean hands. A quick, warranted death that comes right when you schedule it to. What could be the reason for such wish to materialize? It varies, it really does, but..
..An assassin must not care for that. An assassin’s goal is to eliminate the target; to know the rules and play by them. Drachma earned through blood is still Drachma, no matter what circumstances cause it to spill."
(I’ve been planning to build something cathedral-ish in AO’s style for about a month now, but decided to put greater focus on ~ You Feel Like You Are Being Watched… ~ and other stuff like ~ Washed Ashore, Far From Home ~.
Now, I finally gave it some attention; interior’s not finished yet, but I might feature it in one of the future posts…)
