magma loses 2 clashes earth loses 4
You also need to factor destruction, interactions, and synergy as well. There’s a lot of situations in which Earth would be better to use than Magma.
If you can manage to get a magma magic user into water, earth would win. Magma is extraordinarily weak when in water, even more than when a fire user is in water.
I wrote the information for that so I’d know.
Earth can make pillars from high jumping which can be used to escape easier. Earth doesn’t remove bleeding and it does extra damage against bleeding targets.
As @Magma said, Earth can also travel underwater and can be used basically anywhere. Though you could argue that Magma is cooler since you can make obsidian in water.
Funny how your name is Magma yet you made an argument for Earth
well of course you’re going to be escaping as an earth magic you cant defeat anybody when your magic is as slow as a snail and hits like a butterfly
these are very little tiny scenarios that arent realistic with actual players, but its quite evident earth needs a buff
Yeah, my name has been Magma for as long as I can remember so it was basically required that someone with my name, Magma, to choose Magma magic.
If you buff Earth, you’d have to buff Wood as well since Wood is Earth but weaker with better interactions.
i havent looked into it, but if its as bad as earth it should get buffed
Why am I being suggested and seeing buff posts all of a sudden.
On another note, haven’t used earth so can’t say
You haven’t seen the sheer capacity of earth and how brutal it is in the right hands. The brutal damage,no way to pretty much clash back as a defensive option, being a solid magic, high destruction and great synergy with bleeding.
has very good clashing, good damage, bad speed, pretty good magic interactions, and unlike magma, doesn’t put out the bleeding effect so you can keep enjoying the 25% bonus dmg from it after more than just one hit. I’d say a tiny bit under average considering the speed, but decently balanced. also wood has much superior interactions so It’s not weaker at all. In short:

I’d have to disagree, Wood is already strong enough with its interactions. Earth is just inferior to everything since it has incredibly mediocre stats and very few interactions.
Seriously, wood is one of the strongest magics in the whole game. It gains a damage buff from fire and plasma, two other above average magics, and it can proc bleed, which also gives it a damage buff.
All in all, wood is very strong. Earth is uncomparable to it, and needs a buff.
In that case, Crystal would need to be buffed since it has even less interactions than Earth and just is slightly more damaging and destructive compared to Wood.
I honestly agree, both crystal and earth need buffs. Earth needs something to make it useful among iron, gold, and magma.
As for crystal, I would give it a unique non-damaging debuff. When an attack deals over 5% of a target’s health bar, crystals get lodged into their body. This makes them get pincered, and become more vulnerable to certain magics while also providing unique bonuses to others. For example, Light magic could refund some magic energy when hitting a pincered target due to the Light travelling through the crystals.

earths dmg is average, its speed is very bad, and destruction isnt very pvp related. clashing shouldnt effect stats much because clashing in general is rare. and the only thing it has actually going well for it is interactions thats literally it.
and it dosnt even cause bleed on hit unless you take out 33% of the enemies hp in a single hit and if you’re taking out 33% of an enemies hp in a single hit its already clear you’re probably gonna win and you dont need the bleed
Wood also requires 30% of their health to go down in a single hit to proc bleed, but it actually gives you a way to do that against high level targets with damage bonuses from acid, explosion, plasma, and fire.
I personally think Earth should receive an innate magic size buff, making it the best magic for large, un-dodgeable attacks and AOE.
