Cannon Fist just needs to turn you into an android so you can shoot cannons out of your hands

The vast majority of balance teams in gaming as a whole are hated by the community. The difference is unlike most games ao has a dedicated discord server where we spend tons of time explaining every change and responding to questions super frequently. The difference in how much people like the balance team depending on if they’ve ever joined the balance discord or not is insane.
Nearly every time I see a negative comment about the balance team in vetcord (vetex games discord server) or on the forums I check if they’re in the balance discord or not. An overwhelming majority of those people either intentionally haven’t joined the balance server or they haven’t heard of it, suggesting that we’re actually good at communicating and explaining things, people just don’t join the balance server
I want cannon fist to be exactly like it is now, but if you click and hold then you aim instead of rapid fire, you must spam click to rapid fire. Then bump the base damage of techniques by 1.5x
I can’t think of a better solution, personally.
Note that alot of times when people shit on the balance team here, its in threads where the balance team’s ideas have been clearly laid out for them to see.

Just realized this is a logical fallacy since most people aren’t in the balance server so naturally most haters aren’t in there. Either way if you ask people who’ve joined and participated in the balance server I’m confident they won’t be nearly as negative as people who don’t participate in the community as much. People dislike the balance team either because they’re not knowledgeable enough regarding the game (so they struggle with understanding why certain changes are made) or they don’t listen to explanations in the first place

Do you have any examples of that? Most of the time I see posts regarding balance changes the titles start off with strawmanning, like “the balance team wants to gut vitality” or something like that
The first thread that immediately comes to mind is the waterbreathing changes/fixes.
Bug or not people hated the idea of it changing.
There’s also all the cone check shit.
If I sacrifice my gem slots to breathe water, I deserve to be able to breathe a lot of water.
I could have put status effect duration there, or destruction.
Wasn’t that approved by Vetex though as something he was planning to fix already?
Warlord reworks too please! I’ve come up with an overly complex suggestion, but this is much better! I can switch between Boxing, Basic, and Iron leg!
Because people were abusing it, it’s like when the luck rework was put in the patch notes, the main arguments i saw consisted of “hes trying to make sunkens impossible to grind again” not realizing the fact that a 10x drop rate boost doesnt exist anymore opens up the opportunity for buffs (like abyssal underwater structures having 2x sunken drops.
Nerfing luck potions opened up opportunities for universal buffs that don’t gatekeep items behind organized luck parties that most players don’t have access to.
Water breathing jewels that are gatekept behind an dedicated set were giving people a tier 5 potion effect for an infinite amount of time, making it impossible to balance water breathing potions/air capacity jewels/diving for players with and without jewels. You shouldn’t feel like you’re missing out and wasting resources if you’re not using a specific set of jewels.
Unlike luck, water breathing was already balanced around the general playerbase, so infinite air capacity was on the other side of the spectrum, allowing you to bypass the intended requirement of using water breathing potions to dive which means auric seaweed becomes useless after you get a breathing set
(it’s also a bug and was never intended in the first place, it’s not sensible to be entitled to benefiting from that)

yeah, I’ve noticed a trend with the community over time becoming entitled to abusing loopholes/bugs/oversights/other unintended game mechanics and then getting super angry when stuff gets fixed. I wouldn’t be surprised if people get mad when you can’t craft infinite healing potions by abusing merchant deckhands anymore
Could you elaborate on this because the cone check was something Vetex himself wanted to happen, and it’s necessary for combat not to collapse completely lol. It’s kinda unintuitive I agree, maybe there could be a pop-up tip for the first few times you fail a cone check
The issue with waterbreathing is that everyone thought it was an intended feature because we’ve had it in the game for an entire year without a word said about it.
If it was fixed like a week after the update, only a handful of people would have complained.
yeah I know, these things should
be caught during testing, there are way too many oversights that end up staying in the game for months (or even a year like what happened with luck potions)
