Casting Style Weapons

Casting Style Weapons
effort 3.8 5 quality 3.6 5 reasonability 2.8 5

Classic mages use wands, staffs, tomes, orbs, etc.
In WoM Theos used a staff to cast spells etc.
The player unlocks magic casting styles depending on spell and magic stats invested. Adding more casting styles in an old fashion might look too bland even if it comes in addition of an uptade it still leaves room for improvement.

Casting Style Weapons change the concept of summoning spells with magic circles and adds quality of life features to the spellcasting system.

Concept:

Players will be capable of equiping an magic weapon in their weapon slots. These have no skills and dont directly appear in your inventory, instead they overlap your current magics. In short: If you equip your magic you will equip the magic weapon instead. These weapons focus on changing the players casting style. The player can only choose one Magic weapon similar how players are incapable of equiping the same weapon twice with the exception that it affect every casting style weapon regardless of its type. Overall you will play a different casting animation depending on weapon and sometimes spell.

Weapon Variants:

  • Staff
  • Scepter
  • Orb
  • Wand
  • Tome

How to Obtain:

Overall weapons will rarely be found in chests. They have material variants that are based of the players level. Mage weapons will be only obtainable by magic related classes. There could also be holiday event variants later obtainable through limited time events.

Material Variant
(Least rare to rarest)

  • Staff, scepter and wand:

  • Bronze

  • Silver

  • Gold

  • Orb:

  • Glass sphere

  • Crystal sphere

  • Arcanium Sphere

  • Tome:

  • Rough Leather

  • Brown Leather

  • Dark Leather

GUI:

when a magic weapon is equipped it will be visualized as an image of the casting style weapon behind the players magic in the inventory slot.

Pros:

  • Mages look alot less bland.
  • Expansion of casting Styles.
  • Fresh and rare Collectables.

Cons:

  • Wastes a weapon slot.
  • Mainly accessable to Mages and Warlocks.
  • Purely Vanity items.

Additions:

Could add visual effects to the base magic depending on equipped casting style weapon for extra vanity (similiar to spirit imbue/ would also overlap spirit imbue vissual effects) and change the visual effects color by dyeing your weapon magic color at a dyer. Could also change the color of the weapon itself, adding even more customisation!

Lemme rerate then, what is this but more restrictive arcanium weapons ? Also, why warlocks specifically @Robin

since he undid that im counteracting you

Remove balance ratings if they remove their self-rate

??? You mean scepter?

Yes thank you, I’ll make sure to edit it

I have edited my post in your favor, please be so generous and re-rate my post

You still wrote sceptar, not scepter, and it still says ceptar in at least one other spot
You can click on one of the arrows in a quote to see everywhere where the word appears, this should hopefully help you find future mistakes
Though it doesn’t seem to be working in this case… It’s at the top of the material list.

Thanks!

You gonna address my point ?

Its less restrictive to warlocks since they have no current use for the weapon slot also, Arcanium weapons dont have an effect on the players base magic. This is entirely for vanity effects aswell as a addition to the casting styles of the players magic.

Paladins

I guess you don’t know about weapon casting :/.

Paladins are going to have their own slots in the future and if youd read my post you would know the difference between my suggestion and arcanium weapons. Arcanium weapons will have 2 skills for both magic and weapon and the players magic can be only imbued into the weapon skills. The magic skills of arcanium weapons doesnt have to be one of the players magics. My suggestion included weapons to vissualize spell casting in different ways. Basically weapons that you can imbue into your magic to change their way of casting.

It does, what’d be the alternative

So they’re in the exact same situation as warlocks, thus proving my point

So shapes right ?

Yes that proves your point.
Also I may have been missleaded when it comes to arcanium weapons but I’m still sure my suggestion doesnt resemble them. And no I dont mean shapes im refering to the animation that plays when you cast a spell, Mainly because I think it would be more immersive if the Player could cast via weapon. In addition I meantioned that it would aslo have vissual coloration effects to the attack depending on how you died your casting style weapon

Yeah so half of the already existing arcanium weapons feature

Please provide a link to what you mentioned of the arcanium weapons feature. All my information originates from discord and other peoples forums I havent seen any original content.

Yeah no thats exactly what I said except for the part with different weapons.

I WANT A MAGIC BOOK SINCE WOM BUT WHY VETEX DOESNT WANT TO ADD MAGIC BOOKS IN HIS STUPID MAGIC GAMEEE

but i dont like that is only vanity because vetex said he is not adding vanity weapons so… maybe it should add 2 free slots for spells or more depending on the “tier” of the magic ehm… weapon? (or maybe instrument idk) but you can add spells from any of your magics, for example a fire blast and ash placed explosion in a magic book, and you can only equip one staff, or book or whatever

vetex pls pls i dont have more slots in my fire magic :sob::broken_heart:

He said vanity weapons not vanity casting styles tho
