vetex probably wont even think about adding this because with it you can just try lost magics way too early like: wind+lightning (storm), fire+light (flare) and especially ones like light+shadow (equinox?) and fire+water (steam)
but i see what you mean, but your suggestion changes awakenings far too much, better would be just giving possibility for player to add magic into other magic’s spell but cost of this spell will be increased depending on their synergy
yet overall i dont think it will be good idea to add another feature that will affect balance, but it could be fun to see what combinations you can get and how cool they will look like

it whould be reasonable, if only it didn’t shape the meta in such a way, even if balanced, you cannot deny that a warrior will slack behind a mage with almos 1.5x damage and double status effects

and thus, the return of weapon aura being an actual awakening instead of a stat buff so minor its basically just an excuse for warriors to have that part in the story
