mode is cool as it is, but these changes would make it very very cool
however I think these changes could be simplified down to a move customization on an actual transformation spell, and technique. like the one on the now long unlisted lost spell idea card.
I really do like this idea. Any suggestion to do with customization usually appeals to me. The only issues I see with this is the unrealistic colors and beastification. I understand that they could be cool customization options, but it just seems unrealistic to have with the base spell.
That’s the whole point of my suggestion, to build upon something already stabilished to make it more appealing without having to go through the hell that is balancing. And i know i say aura a lot in the post (because i had forgotten the word for FS’ counterpart), but i thought i made it clear that it would also apply for Focus and at a base level, so only pure weapon users would be necessarily excluded.
About the hover stuff yeah, i realize. But i doubt vetex would made a movement option the side effect of a totally different spell
Would be, but then it would be locked behind pure magic. And honestly when i picture vetex saying “transformation spell” i feel as though it’s thansforming into creatures/monsters rather than just changing armor sets…
So for the lost spell, that custom data is more likely to be stored on the spell which could lead to memory leaks easier due to the nature of those spells.
For a base spell it’s more likely that the customization would be tied to the character much like the character’s base appearance. Even if you forget your aura spell, the customization wouldn’t be changed.
Also the “mode” option could be in another tab instead of the spells itself, being a base spell you can justify that. Since a lost spell is tied to rng it makes no sense to have a customization tab dedicated to it no be inside the spell.
It can go either way, but if Calvus is using Mode like I’ve heard people say he is, then Transformation would have to be something other than a visual change.
Yeah i get this. The beastification part was more to cater towards the post i got the idea from (didnt mention them here so people wouldnt associate this with a furry suggestion cause that was not the point)
This is better as a feature request for higher tier spells and techniques. Hybrids can still get between 480 and 720 points into a stat. So for magic and strength users might get it for their first magic/FS. They’ll likely be able to use at least rare and potentially even lost tier spells or techniques. Just be patient, because we aren’t even at full release.
This would waste more memory than the alternative of keeping it simple. It’s better to just simplify it and fix the memory leaks if they appear than make a whole new system dedicated for it. Especially since both are still prone to memory leaks.
it’s pretty obvious that spells don’t work like this, scrolls are just a separate way of learning the spell, using a scroll is indifferent from just pressing the spell creation button. I’m fine with you saying it’d be cool to have more prominent visual changes this early on but talking out of ur ass saying it’s more likely to cause memory leaks is just ridiculous
Im saying it could be more of a problem as something you unlock based on rng than with something you have as a base line. Not that it would happen, but if it were to happen i can see it being morenof a problem this way
