You said we can PvP in elysium, I said that then people would just PvE and PvP would become rare. Im saying that there should be a benefit for PvP such as a chest or being able to turn on World PvP after reaching a milestone of some sort like 10 wins or something

literally no I’ve been over this exact point like 5 times in this thread and we’re only at 50 messages.

PvP, if anything, would only become more common.
the line between pvp and pve players would be blurred.

World PvP will only be imporved by this.

World PvP gets more skillfull players by people practicing in elysium.
And world PvP will be more encourage due to the Clan island building later on.

WIth a more PvP practiced Majority PvP will become more exciting and common even in World as some people dont wanna bother having to go to elisium.

don’t say “I just scanned over it” and then ask for an explanation, scroll back up and read.

Also this could encourage People who normaly just Alt+F4 once a single Person attacks them to fight back as they are more practiced in PvP and more confident in their ability to protect themself.

Just did read the actual thing, says nothing about how to make PvE players want to PvP when they want to

It encourages players to PvP by giving them a place to do so where its their choice and action at low (to 0) stakes where they can learn and improve at PvP.

Ye its more of a side Phenomonan that would appear as this would encourage Players to delibratly choose to PvP as its made easier and more Fair by forcing a 1v1 scenario.

But why should i PvP, yes its fun but PvE is also fun and gives benefits such as drops. Thats my question. PvE gives you stuff and is fun, PvP is fun

I’m just trying to improve what’s already there.

PvP rewards, balancing, and all that are things I’ll leave to other people.

Its encouragement not forcing. If u dont want to PvP u dont. But making it easier to access and more controled gives players that want to do it a better way to do it and by decresing the difficulty of doing this would also make people who didnt PvP activly do it.

It is your suggestion. If there is no benefit to PvP and its just a side quest that gives nothing other than Dopamine then Vetex is less likely to add it for that exact reason. It’ll slowly die out after just doing boring 1v1s and lets just ignore the toxic side of the community too as if it wont play a factor on discouraging people to PvP

Isnt the reason why AO rn is still active because of active PvP.
The current content was played to death rn and most people already did it multiple times.

PvP doesnt need a reward or a reason other than fun. PvE needs rewards due to it being against a computer. But PvP is against another player and that activates whole other things in our brains. Look at fighting games they dont have rewards other than visuals but are still played to death and beyond. Because PvP is inheritly fun as u need skill and knowladge to compete with others.

Because PvP currently is basicly a divide between casuals and people who take PvP serouisly it is toxic. We need to Remove that divide with systems like this to make PvP more accesiable and widespread so these toxic things get washed out.

Scenario:

Me: Joins 1v1 - Plays a 1v1 - dies - “Ez, your so bad, runner”
Me: Trys 1v1s again - Same thing
Also Me: Discouraged seeing me getting nothing and just being “bullied”

Isnt this more because it isnt a controled inviroment tho. People who are better than u can just attack you and are not put in their own server with a rank.

This is exacly why we need this. Espiecially the Duel request u can see how people arre in the server as small as elysium. SO u can just avoid the toxic ones.

Im not saying dont add the feature, i like it, i want it. But I see a lot of problems:

  • Toxic People ( Yes this will reduce it but in some ways make it worse )
  • No benefit ( Any benefit that encourages people to do PvP )
  • Teaching ( If theres no system to rank people then a very high player can just grind people trying to PvP, there needs to be some sort of balancing )

U can avoid Toxic people easier by looking at the chat even switch servers if need be.

Again why does it need benefits. A game can encourage u by just being a good game and well AO can do that the gameplay feels good when ur used to it. I for one someone who really only did PvE i want to do PvP but the barrier to entry is just too high rn.

Thats why i talked about a ranking system here but it isnt the main subject we need first of all the base of this everything else can be added later on.

The best sign of a good game is when a game can encourage you to keep playing it by being fun to keep playing.

When that is achieved, a game’s ultimate purpose is fulfilled.
